Oh to be in the land of Cleve right now

no better town for a sports fan imo. I’d be taking a stroll from the Marriott downtown to the RRHOF, smokin a J on the way, maybe cab it to Christie’s or the Crazy Horse for lunch, and then to the Jake for some Ranger baseball and copious amounts of Great Lakes brew. Burning River Pale Ale, by the way, is one of the greatest beer names ever.

My OBP was decent, my BA not so much.

I was fast back in college, so I could beat out a lot of grounders. I also managed to get the guy on in front of me out a lot. . .

For me, hits in to the outfield were rare, XBHs almost unheard of. I learned pretty quickly, though, that I was better if I checked where the catcher was positioned. And then I learned if I did that, sometimes the’d hit me. Getting hit hurts, but boy is it an easy way to get on base.

The Texas Rangers have signed their 13th pick of the 24th round of the June draft, Shawn Blackwell, RHP-Clear Creek-2009. Blackwell is a big 6’ 5" 195lb RHP who is able to deliver 90’s fastballs effortlessly. he has a very project able frame and should develop into an even more powerful pitcher for the Rangers. Shawn was a 1st Team All Houston selection at H5AB and a member of the HABCA All Stars as well as Team Texas Sunbelt and American Legion State Runner-up, League City Post-554

This is kinda cool:
"This is one more step," Blackwell said. "It isn’t my goal right here. It’s what I’ve been dreaming of, but my ultimate goal is playing pro ball."

Blackwell dedicates every game he plays to his late grandfather Owen C. Smith. Smith passed away on Blackwell’s 10th birthday. He has the date (11-15-00) written in the bill of his camp.

Blackwell said his grandfather was watching him sign on Wednesday night.

"I’m sure he’s proud of me," Blackwell said

Was it last Friday when Wash

decided to let Feldman go 120 pitches v LAA?

He’s at close to 70 fairly high pressure pitches thru three innings and may need to be fitted for a short, tight leash going forward.

We have a very rested bully and need to take advantage of it.

I dont think its shows it as a really poor play, it generally decreases your Runs Per Inning likelihood

but you are still more likely to score 1 run in that inning than before. I think its pretty narrow minded to just right off the Sac Bunt as a poor play because the Runs Per Inning over a general/broad veiw of things goes down, there is way more to take into account than that
