The SEC Don't Tweet
If you attend an SEC game this year, you better not Tweet or put up Facebook status updates about the game...if you do, you're violating SEC rules.

I mean, I guess it would just be a guy who you know, grabs bananas and runs. Or, um, a banana that grabs things. I don’t know. Why would a banana grab another banana? I mean, those are the kind of questions I don’t want to answer.

5th inning against the Tigers
Yeah
These are the same people who think having a playoff system for NCAA football would be bad, because it means losing the great traditions of the bowl system.
Where would we be without the pageantry and drama of the Peach Bowl every New Year’s Day?

I live
for the pageantry of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.

I've never understood
Why the NCAA doesn’t just incorporate the bowl games into the playoff structure?
For example, the semifinals one year could be the Fiesta Bowl & Sugar Bowl, then the final could be the Rose Bowl, with the lesser bowls serving as the early rounds. Yeah, you’d have some teams playing in multiple bowl games, but with better matchups, I’d think the revenue generated would be worth it. Not to mention getting all those 6-5 teams out of the bowl games.

Some people may think that way
But it’s all about the money to the schools. That’s exactly what this is about, too.
They (the NCAA) pulled this shit last year, even removing a reporter from a game and issuing an official live blogging policy, which they then had to revise after the shitstorm that ensued.

Yeah, well
Have fun enforcing that.

haha yeah
Kinda ridiculous to even publish this sort of thing. The only people they can enforce it on are credentialed journalists.

I think it's a good thing if they TRY and enforce it..
I’m sick and tired of seeing crowd shots with disinterested people stittng there texting and not even watching the friggin game. I saw 10-15 of those right behind home plate last night (trophy checks of course) and it kills me.

I don't disagree with your annoyance
But texting is different from posting on Twitter and Facebook. This laughable, unenforceable rule doesn’t address texting.

I hope everyone knows I'm projecting my annoyance at baseball season ticket "wastes of space" onto this topic...
Clearly, every one at an SEC game is pretty locked in on the game. Those places are rocking every Saturday.

Well, I'm mostly opposed to those people too
So I feel your pain. Most of those people don’t deserve the tickets they have.

you've gotta ban texting in a vehicle somehow
before ever worrying about apathetic fans texting at games. that is a MUCH bigger problem

hmm, still kinda iffy
for example, let’s say the texas rangers or MLB had a similar rule. and adam was at a game and made a blog fanpost about a particular event in the game. would that constitute commercial use? it seems like they could easily make that case if they wanted to. granted, not everybody that wants to tweet about a game runs a blog. but it still leaves the door open for possible infringement on a legitimate, productive use of social media.
