Greatest Inventions Ever? 1. TiVO, 2. Boobs, 3. Baseball
OT: I dropped my iPod in a glass of water..sigh
I was at the gym so I couldn’t go home and dry it right away with blow dryer or rice. But I had a towel and wiped it good. Do I let it sit for a couple days or take it to Apple?

Don't take it to Apple
Unless it fell in Apple brand water, you have voided some obscure clause in your warranty.
The Texas Rangers have been synonymous with explosive firepower ever since they emptied 130 rounds into Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in 1934. - Alyssa Milano
Go to Apple right now
Didn’t you read the fine print? It says if dropped in glass of water it will start a self destruct countdown. Is it smoking yet or making a ticking noise? Go quick, go now don’t delay.

except mine wasn't a glass of water
it was the toilet

That's actually how they say it in NYC
Archie Bunker, for example.

Let it sit for a couple of days first (DON'T TRY TO TURN IT BACK ON UNTIL THEN) and if that doesn't work, take it to Apple
You probably voided the warranty but if you ponied up for Apple Care and it hasn’t expired you’d be covered.
It's an iPod classic I bought like 2 years ago.
I’m sure the warranty expired already.

Wrong
There are two things Apple Care does not cover:
1.) Cracked screens
2.) Water damage
Incidently, this is just about the only two things that can happen to iPods and iPhones. Go figure.
Trust me on this. The extra $60 I paid for apple Care Protection did not cover my broken iPhone screen – though Apple is kind enough to offer me a replacement phone for $200, plus sales tax, of course.

let it sit for awhile
I recommend leaving it somewhere in your car if you park outside.. should get really hot and dry out quicker.
I left it on my front seat at the gyn so it could dry. Almost burned my hand touching it.
It was in the water for like 3-5 seconds. We’ll see.
Thanks for the tips guys.

Let it sit for a few days and try it
You can bring it in to Apple, but be aware that some models (iPhone, iPod Touch, and possibly other iPod models) have a water sensor built-in to detect just such an occurrence.
I think
I’d prefer it to a total lack of updating for a month.

That site is just pointless now
There’s plenty of NBA stuff to be talking about now and crickets

you have to type words in emails
blank emails generally don’t get returned

Just .. fail.

Not as bad as having a site that is often read by foreigners
The typical spam email I get from it is either related to erectivle dysfunction, penile enlargement, or cheap (?) drugs offshore.

No kidding
Those 3 categories and the Nigerian scams make up about 90% of the spam I receive daily.
My favorite ones:
1- the one claiming to be from the head of the FBI, asking for my help in catching Nigerian scammers, which was clearly written by someone whose first language is not English.
2- the one from a gentleman named “Emeka Okafor” needing my assistance to get money out of a West African account. Apparently, the center for the New Orleans Hornets wants me to pass as some dead guy’s nephew in order to access $10 million.
Officially gay for Neftali Feliz
You guys need to seriously look at your spam filters
I haven’t gotten a Nigerian scam email in over a year.

I take a proactive stance on Spam and report all if it
and it seems to reduce the amount after a time.
