How come Davis can't hit 6th?
He’s either good enough to do it or he’s not.
The training wheels need to come off asap.

So you put a lot of stock into RW's lineups then? Big Wash believer?

Josey Donuts believes JD controls the lineup.
Or something. His comments contradict themselves with regularity.

The line-up is controlled by the FO
because Wash was told to hit Kinsler 6th v LH pitching.

By FO you mean Nolan?
And if so, does your head ASPLODE?

So, Nolan is setting the lineup now?
He’s in charge after all.

Pudge has played a lot and needs off
in a day game following a night game.
TT has shown that if given steady playing time, he will hit.
He’s started 12 games in August (most of the year) and he has a .770 OPS. He didn’t look good last night but hadn’t played since Saturday.
The worst Ranger news I heard last night is that Salty is due back in 7-10 days.

He was always susceptible to GIDP. Didn’t he lead the league once during his heyday?

Nearly every year
that was his main fault as a hitter.

That would also be the year he won a little thing called the MVP.
His next highest finish was 9th (which he did three times)

I don't think many people view that stat as a huge red flag
Lots of really good hitters led the league in GIDP

Yes
He hits the ball very hard, so it gets to the infielders quickly. Combine that with the good hitters he had in front of him and he had lots of opportunities to GIDP.

770 ops... with a 188 average and 290 obp.
Why do you buy into the everyday playing time bit so much? Its fodder for mediocre players like Mench, Laird, GMJ, **cough**Hank**cough**, etc…
Im sure its nice to play everyday and occasionally get into a groove (or long slump…), but at the end of the day hitters will hit rather than its 7 out of 7 games or 3 out of 7.
the preceding post was a great success.

Observation on Teagarden, DShepp
Look what he did last September in 14 games or somesuch.
I’m more than a little iffy about This Thing down the stretch right now and if Salty comes back playing 5 days a week, it’s over.

That can be accounted for a hot streak in a small sample size.
We still don’t know what we have with him, but right now, you can’t feel good with him in the lineup until he starts to produce at the plate more regularly.

Look at what he did playing everyday at AA/AAA last year in...
April.. May… June.. July… August…
I don’t care about Tea vs salty but Tea’s offense should be in high question right about now.
the preceding post was a great success.
by DSheppard on Aug 27, 2009 11:45 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
DShepp
I don’t like excuses but he’s a rookie plus he was playing once a week when Salty was healthy.
In June his obp was .136.
In July his obp was .176.
In August his obp was .291.
Granted, all those numbers suck but you can see improvement and it came with more playing time.

we need to be in Ali rope-a-dope mode.
We don’t need to be 4.5 games behind the Bosox on Monday morning or it might be time to start shopping for a form-fitting fork.

Stop listening to Rudy, Bitch!!11”… the best part would be you getting dragged away by security guards still directing profanity towards kinsler as he proceeds to hit a HR and thinks all is well with the world.
