I'm pretty sure the Rangers are going to end up with a winning record this season.

Holy shit.
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock
and yep, we do
we were tied at 9, so now 1 up over detroit with 10.

We need to talk about global warming. I have serious questions.
Gracchus (about Obama): I think he knows what America is. America is the mob. Conjure money for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. The beating heart of America is not the paper of the Constitution, it's the power of the media. He'll bring them debt - and they will love him for it.

It was 111 degrees at the San Luis Obispo Airport at noon today
I’m like a mile or two from the airport so the temperature at my place and at the airport is usually similar.
Now I feel like a little bitch for complaining about 87

Of course, that's only inside though. Outside, who knows...

Thankfully I have a window a/c in the bedroom because my trailer tends to get hot inside
A lot of people in SLO don’t have a/c because it doesn’t get to 111 by noon in SLO.
Yeah, I don't have AC, which is why I'm suffering.
Best I’ve got is one of them box fan things in the window. Which normally is enough, but not the last few days…

I've got a window fan in the hallway window
It was blowing 111-degree air into my hallway so I turned it off.
A beautiful 78 degrees in Amarillo, Texas today

i'm not scoreboard watching tonight. i'll come back and check in about two hours.
More than a game a day is too stressful. Plus I have to watch gameday for the Angels game which makes it much more stressful.
I'm just goofin' new boot goofin'
That slider/curveball
that Feliz throws is filthy. Keep locating it and we will be good.

Theres barely any point in checking for baseball tonight
if espn has any sporting event whatsoever scheduled before it.
the preceding post was a great success.
So this big guy with the shaved head, goatee, and funny tie on the postgame show--is this the controversial Evan?
Feliz
I wish Wash had used O’Day there instead of rushing Feliz through his warmup. The curves were impressive, but I’d rather not risk doing anything to that golden arm (golden shoulder to be more specific). He didn’t get warm until his 4th (and last) out.
He got the outs.
And didn’t have to work too hard to do it. I don’t see a problem using him there, we needed out of that inning. Probably the most important situation of the entire game.
Gracchus (about Obama): I think he knows what America is. America is the mob. Conjure money for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. There were 2 outs and Cuddyer was at the plate
You don’t trust O’Day in that situation?
I trust them both.
If you want to bring Feliz into the game, though, I’d rather you do it at that point and save O’Day for tomorrow than use two pitchers to get 4 outs.
Gracchus (about Obama): I think he knows what America is. America is the mob. Conjure money for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. Using O'Day tonight doesnt mean he's unavailable tomorrow.
He hasn’t pitched for 4 days now and theoretically you’d be using him for 1 out since Feliz isn’t warm. He’d be fine for the next couple of days.
or he could have just have him warming earlier
since he was going to pitch the seventh rather feldman got out of it or not
the preceding post was a great success.
That was the only thing I questioned.
I would have gotten him started after the four-pitch walk to open the inning.

“The Cubs are more open to dealing Rich Harden to the Twins than you might think. Wouldn't figure that you'd understand NY.
Perhaps you’d be better off putting on a tank top and head band and then listening to Lover Boy’s “Greatest” Hits?

I don't get the love for Neil Young either
His voice annoys the ever living dog out of me. I can’t get past that, so I know that probably clouds my opinion of his music, but I just don’t see what the big deal is. He’s okay, but that’s about it.

Levon has a daughter that is in a pretty good band. Alternative country music I think. I believe it is called Ollabelle.
http://www.ollabelle.net/fr_index.cfm
I soloed in the Mile High Club!
the band
in the movie “The Last Waltz” one of the band talked about when they were Ronnie Hawkins back up band the Hawks. He was reminiscing about a club they played in Fort Worth that did not have a roof. That building is still there I believe and is now like an auto parts store. It is on the Jacksboro Hwy which was one of the roughest parts of Fort Worth at the time.

It’s weird. Originally I didn’t like EB&D… and stopped watching after a couple of episodes. I came back to it months later, and really enjoyed it.
I've seen a couple episodes
It had funny moments, but kinda seemed like it tried too hard.
But I’d be willing to give it another chance.

one night back during the off-season,
I was watching dominican league ball on MLB Network. My wife was sick with the flu that night, so I basically had the evening to myself. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted for dinner: pizza or wings. I went out and got some habenero wings from Buffalo’s, came home, watched some baseball and chillaxed.
Well, then, I started feeling the queezy-ness later that night. And then the puke came.
I would have much rather upchucked peperonni pizza instead of habenero sauce.
In this situation, Mac would be the pizza barf, and Nippert would be the habenero. Give me McCarthy, please.

just your normal
7-4 DP
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland -Tom Grieve Rangers Minor League Player of the Year
Martin Perez - Nolan Ryan Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year
Abrew "popped up" to just shy of the warning track, Figgins tried to advance to second and got tagged out there
They sure do run into a lot of outs on the bases.
Oh my!!
Figgy Fucks up!!!

That was retarded.
I’m ecstatic the Angels lost, but that’s just dumb baseball.
Sign of the Angels pressing???
Wasn't Hunter on deck or Vlad?

They've been running into outs on the bases for years
I don’t think the outs end the game that often but they’ve run into a metric fuckton of outs.
It's a sign of them being too aggressive, yes
I saw them try to steal home in between pitches in the Tigers series. Laird through the ball back to Miner, who walked off the mound, back facing third… and fuckin Figgins breaks for home.
Fortunately Brandon Inge had called time and Figgins was sent back to third…
But damn… fuckin Angels will run anytime, anywhere

Ahem
The Good Guys are 14-13 in August with only 9 games being played at home.
We’re the relative that came to visit for Christmas and now refuses to leave.
It’s January 7th, we’re still hanging around the house and tensions are running high because we’re acting like we belong.

3-7 the last 10 for the Angels.
L @ Cleveland
1-2 @ Toronto
1-2 v. Detroit
1-2 v. Oakland
Angels struggling, and not exactly against the best teams in the AL.
Sure does
Maybe that 3-7 turns into 6-14…
we could only hope

More stats?
The Angels have only scored more than 5 runs twice in their past 12 games. They can’t afford that with their pitching.
Upcoming sked for the Angels:
1 v. Oakland
3 @ Seattle
4 @ Kansas City
3 v. Seattle
3 v. Chicago
Sure would be nice if Seattle could win four of those six.
Dude what is up with A's?
Owning the top two teams in the West these few weeks
I watched a little bit of the game tonight. The A’s always make me nervous because they are some eagle-eyed sonsabitches. They do not swing at bad pitches.
If they had a true clean-up hitter, I guess someone like Smoak maybe (?) they could be a pretty formidable offense, I think

Hey LAA!!
These are not your father’s Rangers!

I hate to be "that guy"
but as much as we bank on LAAA to balance out and start losing games, they have to be thinking the same thing about us beating them. I’m sure they are saying they are due for a sweep of the Rangers to even out the arse whipping ownage we’ve had on them this year. Devils advocate here in full force. Please hate away.
Give me chemistry over stats any day. Do you think 34,000 fans were screaming their asses off over Pudges .275 OBP?
it's not like we've been getting lucky when beating them.
We’ve flat out just played better than them. I don’t think that’ll change.
I'm just goofin' new boot goofin'
Here's the thing about the Angels.
They have a mediocre rotation (overall, Weaver is obviously pretty good on the season, but O’Sullivan, Saunders, and Lackey have all been very hittable) and subpar bullpen that has gotten by for months on well above-average hitting. If that hitting stops, which we have some reason to expect based on the fact that so many hitters are hitting above their career norms for this team, then they are vulnerable. The last few games, with the obvious exception of last night, that hitting hasn’t been there, thus the Angels are 3-7 in their last ten games.

Devils advocate again.. Imagining I was a LAAA fan (I feel dirty)
The Rangers have a mediocre/decent rotation (Millwood as an ace is showing some age and tiring as the season goes on, Feldman must regress at some point right? Nips showed he gets rattled in NY and can’t throw a strike, and Holland and Hunter will have some rookie bad games) Our bullpen has a few good pieces. CJ and FX2 aren’t always solid as we’ve seen, especially Frankie since he is coming off an injury. Their thinking is that if our pitching stops, which we should believe since they are pitching well above THEIR career normals, we should be hitting a slide soon and vulnerable. Again, please hate away.
Give me team chemistry and emotion over stats any day. Do you think 34,000 Ranger fans were screaming their asses off over Pudge and his .275 OBP?
I don't think CJ or Frankie are pitching over their heads by any means.
Feldman’s post ASB K/9 is higher than pre, so as long as he keeps trending towards that, his FIP will look much better, and he won’t really have anywhere to regress to. Our D has been there all season, and is still the main driving force behind the run prevention.
Around this time in previous years, I dreaded the Angels coming to town, and only looked forward to seeing if our clown college of a pitching staff could keep Vlad from his 875th straight game with a hit against us.
This year, I can’t wait to see the Angels on our schedule, so the Rangers can proceed to beat them silly and leave them in a park dumpster for Benson and Stabler to find the next morning.

You're not really making any sense.
We’ve pitched and played defense like this for the whole season, so to say we have to regress at sometime is wrongt. If we were going to regress it’d be before now. Our bullpen is fantastic as far as 7 8 9 goes. Feliz CJ and Frankie. On days Feliz can’t go you have O’day and Strop. I’d feel pretty safe with that. We’re getting B-Mac back and he might be just as bad as Nippert, but his rehab starts have been pretty good, so we’ll see.
But just as the same with our pitcher same goes for their hitting. I don’t think it’ll regress that much it may a little since they were only hitting really good for about a two month stretch. Still their offense is really good. We just gotta stay close till we play them, and then keep beating them like we have been.
I'm just goofin' new boot goofin'
It makes sense that you're pretending to be an Angels fan with that kind of thinking
Its the defense. The pitching has improved from last year, but the defense keeps the rotation be lights out. Add in a bullpen with a healthy FX2 followed by CJ, O’Day, and now Strop. As long as the team can avoid burning through those guys over the next month, the team is going to continue to be among the best in the league in runs prevented.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
