did you look
at “The Ranger offense since the All Star Break” on the front page. the numbers show that some players are doing better than we realize. hammy, blalock, vizquel, kinsler and byrd have been horrible yeah.
but apparently young’s OPS since asb 9s 1.245
cruz 1.097
jones .999
andrus .863
salty .807
murph .784

5th inning against the Tigers
A: 14-7
Q: What is the Rangers record against the only 3 teams with better records in the American League?
This
is
awesome
wish they could play
the angels tonight. could be a good shot in the arm. win 3 in a row and right in the mix. lose 3 and it is ugly. split still has promise. but alas we get the totally awesome A’s. and the angels get the lowly chi socks.
next series though could be a game changer

5th inning against the Tigers
I am confident
As I am sure the Rangers are, too. The Rangers players know surely how bad they have kicked the ass of the other best teams in the League this year.
And yes, the Rangers can call call the Angels surely.
That's ok
Keeps the game interesting for you if you don’t think the Rangers are going to win. Also, gives you a happier ending when they do win.
Naw
Only since the early 80s, and the Rangers have never been so good against the 3 best teams in the AL as they are this year, in my memory at least.
Look at the record man!!
We have had players in slumps and on the DL all year and still a kick ass record.
2009 Texas Rangers: Why The Hell Not Us?--ghtd36 on May 13, 2009
I am just as concerned about the As
But I am confident the Rangers will do well in the Bay area, too.
Do you want me to lie or tell the truth?
No I’m not afraid of the Angels, A’s, Boston or NY. That is the truth. I have respect for them but I’m not afraid of them.

Arias leading off tonight
from Insidecorner
Washington’s explanation, even though Andrus has 50 more games and 150 more career major league at-bats than Arias: "Experience."
but he goes on to say…
One area where Andrus has been surprisingly mature is in the taking of pitches. He is seeing more pitches per plate appearance (3.68) than 3B Michael Young, 1B Hank Blalock and OF Marlon Byrd. Don’t make any assumptions that its because Andrus is being told to take, either. Washington said Andrus has only been given the "take" sign on 3-and-0 counts.
"He’s aware of the way the game is supposed to be played," Washington said.
Stop thinking so much Ron.
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland -Tom Grieve Rangers Minor League Player of the Year
Martin Perez - Nolan Ryan Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year
It's this simple
Arias is not a good hitter, therefore, Arias should not hit leadoff.
Kanye, you want to be the voice of this generation? Get in line! It goes me, Obamagirl, the Freecreditreport.com guys, then It's a tie between you-and Crocs.

The batting stance guy...
is quite the phenomenon.
When he was just a YouTube sensation it was a unique novelty that was fun to seek out on one’s own time and leisure. However, now that he is being thrust into our faces as we try to enjoy a baseball game, I’d rather be punched in the face with an icepick than have him interrupt another pitch with his schmaltzy David Ortiz impression.

josh hamilton could learn from youkilis
BOSTON—Showing the discerning eye and patient bat that have become his hallmark, the Red Sox’ Kevin Youkilis pushed a third-inning at bat to a six-and-five count before finally working a walk on Tuesday. “That 5-4 pitch was tough, but in that spot I’m looking for something to drive,” said Youkilis, who was down 0-3 in the count before taking the next five pitches for balls. “My job there is to make the starter work, so I usually just take the first eight pitches or so to give myself an idea of what he’s got to offer. Then I try to foul off another 10 or so to get his pitch count way up. A lot of people say the most important pitch is strike one, but I’ve always found it to be strike seven. Because at that point you’re only three pitches away from strike 10.” Despite the walk, Youkilis was cut down on the base paths trying to steal fourth base.

I think if the A's could convince Oakland to...
help in funding them a stadium by the Jack London Square area in downtown Oakland by the bay, in much of the same vein as AT&T Park, you’d see tons of support for the team.

Something about mid California games
the Rangers’ Bakersfield team has had in the 300-400s several games this year
Whats the context on that though
i have no idea how many people go to the average A ball game.
the preceding post was a great success.
Even the lower Rangers affiliate usually gets 2000
Only time that ever happens in Bakersfield is when they give away 1500 seats
Bakersfield is usually not that great a team
Plus they play in an awful stadium where the batter’s eye faces the sun so the games don’t start until almost 8 p.m. so it’s 11 or so by the time the game ends
And
It’s still 108 degrees when the game starts. AND the seats are literally falling apart. AND it’s Bakersfield
I hate playing baseball in a football stadium.

I've wondered about Funny People...
the original trailers really played off the depressing thing, then they revamped the trailers playing up more the comedy side.
Ron Washington...giving hope everywhere to the kids who eat lead paint chips of being a big league manager when they grow up since 2007.
The truth of the matter is...
more often than not, funny people are depressing people to be around.

Jeeez, the scene in the doctor's office with that overweight old man?
Don;t be old and fat.
I liked “paging Dr. Faggott, paging Dr. Faggot!!!” and how Bradley Cooper reacted when they were winning at blackjack. All kinds of random shit in the movie.
I was laughing so hard I had tears leaving the movie and that hasn’t happened in a long time.

I’m so damn skeptical of Funny People… Maybe it’s Sandler… He sucks lately.
Dustin's pitch count
He has already thrown 75 through four yet has allowed zero runs. If it wasn’t so high I would call for the complete game shoutout. Maybe Nolan will.

Well that was fun.
The most amazing thing, by far, was the delivery. The dude was throwing like it was just absolutely nothing.
So...
…uh…that happened.
At this point, half of LSB is considering going gay for Feliz. And it doesn’t even sound ridiculous.
