Did Madrigal kick texbones' dog?
With as much crap as CJ gets from fans, I bet he is counting the days until he is a FA.
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland -Tom Grieve Rangers Minor League Player of the Year
Martin Perez - Nolan Ryan Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year
I bet he thinks they're funny as hell..
He seems like he has the whole thing in perspective.

mark his words
he will choke again in a cruciak game
OK. 33 games to go. You gotta figure a few of them will be cruciak, even though I’m not entirely sure what cruciate is. We’ll check back in a month.
Cruciak

You know,
Horshak, Epstein, and Boom Boom have to have had more than a few days kicking themselves.

Well, cruciate means in the shape of a cross, right?
Maybe CJ needs to get religion. After all, Jesus saves.
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
We simply MUST sign a reliever with a first name of Jesus and make him the closer
Then, when he closes out a win, the headline can me: “Jesus saves!”
"m" and "b"
close together.

Embarrased to be a Ranger fan based on those comments.
I thought it be all warm and shitty, but it just tasted like normal beer. It was still cold.
Seriously?
There are dumbass fans who make dumbass comments about every professional sports teams. You think this is bad? It really isn’t at all.
Jesus,are these just casual fans?

Yes and probably younger kids that only see the bad in a season and not all the good!
The bloggerformelyknownasBigBaddBubbaJ
what is worse than the comments themselves?
reprinting them…
I'm pretty sure all teams have moronic fans posting on various blogs/sites
Don’t know why the Rangers fans particularly need to be called out.
Go Rice Owls!
It's a good laugh, I think.
Every team has idiots, as you said. Sometimes it’s a nice pick-me-up in the afternoon to remember that, yes, even if you can only walk and chew gum at the same time, you are still smarter than someone.
CJ Nibbling
Why someone with a 90 plus fast ball with good movement continues to try to nibble to get major leagues players out amazes me
This is the only part of any comment that I even remotely agree with. CJ needs to be a little less scared to throw strikes and get ahead in the count more often. All the rest of the comments are complete garbage. If the Rangers win tonight, most of those commenters will forget about yesterday’s game.
So you want him to throw fastballs over the heart of the plate to Morneau and Kubel?
Cause last time I checked those guys are ML hitters and Morneau is one of the best power hitters in the game.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Exactly...
then if he grooves a fastball and it’s hit a ton peope will bitch at him about that too.
It’s funny how people jump on BGL after he has a bad outing, but the 95% of the time that he does his job they won’t talk about.

No
I’m saying he has good enough stuff that he doesn’t need to over think while he’s pitching. He gets in trouble when he tries to “shave” the edge of the strike zone. He has enough movement on his pitches that most hitters won’t make a lot of good contact even if his pitches are a little more over the plate (but not straight down the middle). Plus, the defense behind him is excellent, so I’ll take my chances with the hitters making contact over walking the tying man to the plate any day. A BB/9>4.5 doesn’t make the opposing hitters earn their way on base.
Well
I can’t blame the guy if he wants to “nibble” a little when it seems everytime they make contact with his stuff it finds a hole somewhere. He has had more dinks and dunks and squibbers and seeing eye singles than anyone I can remember. This is not an excuse just a reason why he may want to try and hit the corners to induce the weakest contact possible rather than give the hitter much of the plate and risk a line drive or a home run
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Look at his pitches.
On that walk, his 2nd pitch is actually more “in” the strikezone than his first pitch.
Based on your argument, he did exactly what he needed to do which was get ahead 0-2.
Following that, he made some good pitches trying to get him to swing, and was pretty close with his final pitch.
I don’t think you can really argue with that pitch sequence against one of the better batters in baseball.
OMG CJ IS TEH SUXXORZ!!!!!
That’s all I see when I read those comments…
Officially gay for Neftali Feliz
These comments sound like some of the baseball experts I've heard on MLB and ESPN that Rangers are good hitting team but don't have the pitching to catch Boston.
"We have a better chance to win with other guys in the lineup," said Blalock, who is hitting .190 the past 30 games. "That’s something I’ve got to deal with."
Dave Winfield Nice Guy but has no clue, Rangers have hitting but no pitching, he
probably can’t even name 2 members of the rangers team
Larry Parrish Was Da Man!
Knee Jerks... All of them!!
I agree that CJ gets a little too fancy with trying to get guys out, but you have to wonder if pitching in over 70 games this season is what is taking the toll. Yes, having trusted bullpen guys is very valuable, but at times, I get the feeling that Warsh is more of a fan with a cool job than a genuine baseball manager. There is conventional wisdom and then there is just flat out buffoonery.
If you can trust CJ to get RHB and LHB out, how can you have nobody in the bullpen that you would leave in that is a RHP and can at least attempt to get out LHB? It’s like the “Oh, my lineup must start out alternating R/L/R/L in the event that they bring a reliever in in the 7th inning.” I cannot stand that train of thought. Put the 9 best batters in the lineup to begin the game and manage the game when the game comes to you.

Do you think those guys know that Vernon Wells is from Arlington?

Or that Cliff Pennington went to A&M?
Give me team chemistry and emotion over stats any day. Do you think 34,000 Ranger fans were screaming their asses off over Pudge and his .275 OBP?
I see nothing wrong with these comments..
Sometimes you just want to sit back and watch somebody throw 100. - Jeff Passan on Neftali Feliz
Perfectly reasonable comments
for a bunch of pseudo illiterates.

What do voluntary mean?
ITs better than what you have to do to have god kill a kitten
What do voluntary mean?
You've got to expect an irate fanbase
after that game last night. especially when things are so confusing right now. Our team is contending in September, our starters are great, our bullpen is stout, our hitters are bad, our Hambone has no power, our leadoff hitter is fast, our down is up, our right is wrong. Confusing times cause people to lash out in unfocused ways.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Irate sure.
idiotic hopefully not.
What do voluntary mean?

agree with that clark. I am amazed by the comments about the DMNs posters after reading all the “fuck you comments” about the team from last night and any of the losses lately.
I soloed in the Mile High Club!
cj
i don’t think cj is the best pitcher in the world, but he’s not the worst. I just think that the gay fu manchu picture and the matching glove thing, and the whole ball tossing last year really left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths…that in turn spurs on all these crazy comments when he does bad…..i mean you have to admit, it is relatively douchey behaviour…..
gay relatively douchey behaviour invective from kmoneytime?
Is your username better than gmoneytime, ‘cause, you know…it’s higher up in the alphabet?
"Back on the scene, with a gangsta lean" RW

Let's not use "gay" as an insult here
Otherwise someone’s going to post our threads up on mlb.com

"I’ve been a Rangers fan all my life and I can tell you there’s been plenty of fucking crying in baseball…" - WhipSmart, 6.3.08
"When it comes to Jeff Mathis, the story ends with us putting one in his earhole." - AJM, 7.7.08
This is pointless
every sports team has dumbass fans who post dumbass comments in message boards or in response to articles. The Rangers are no different.
I post there.
Have been a member there for over a year now. I don’t recognize any of those names except for BigMutt, and I don’t really see what the big deal with his comment is. There’s a few people over there that are actually pretty smart when it comes to baseball talk, but as of late the dumbass bandwagoners have been showing up in droves and have run most of them off. That’s why I haven’t been over there as much lately, you have to sift through way too much bullshit to get to the good baseball talk. The Rangers are in contention right now and that is the team’s official website, it’s to be expected that the casual jackasses will eventually show up to the party.
"Damn right. damn right, great idea or maybe just make the punk his bitch right on the mound so all the christers in the audience can start praying and speaking in tongues and perhaps handling snakes – kind of like the scene in Bruno in the cage fight" –Stuntman Mike, on the idea of putting a hardened criminal on the team as an enforcer, and what it would be like to watch him charge the mound.
"How about during the 7th inning stretch from now on we have mass abortions on the field!!???!! Gritty nom nom nom baby JESUS donkey fuck spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can dig up TY COBBS BONES!!!AND USE THEM TO EVACUATE SOME LUCKY FANS UTERUS!!!!" –Section 339, in response to Stuntman Mike
i think it's just one of the original commandments of
uninformed, casual fanship that the bullpen and a manager’s discretion in utilizing it will always get a disproportionate amount of flack when things go badly. 50 years from now, when FIP is printed on the back of baseball cards and bill james is in the hall of fame, there will still be hordes of peeved yankees fans bitching to their android friends about why Joe Torre III didnt go with the lefty in the 7th inning, as if it was a mistake akin to invading Russia in the winter.
