Dude
I’m probably one of the only people that loves that movie.
Gracchus (about Obama): I think he knows what America is. America is the mob. Conjure money for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar. The beating heart of America is not the paper of the Constitution, it's the power of the media. He'll bring them debt - and they will love him for it.

hey
I like that movie. The book ‘Rocket Boys’ is even better.

I watch it every time it comes on TNT.
No idea why. Nary a boob to be found.

Heh
The only female nudity possible in the movie would be from Laura Dern. Not exactly something to look forward to. :-)

Sayles
Odd filmography.
I think of all his movies my favorite is ‘Eight Men Out’. It may also be his most commercial film.
I found ‘Limbo’ extremely annoying. Despite the title and the intention I thought the ending was a terrible mistake.
‘The Secret of Roan Inish’ is both boring and interesting. But mostly dull.
‘The Brother From Another Planet’ I found a little to uneven. Certainly his most ‘preachy’ film. It had its moments.
‘Lone Star’ I think is his most overrated film. It’s nice but not as good as some people seem to think.
‘Matewan’ is very good even though I’m very skeptical of his view of the labor movement from that time.
I’ve seen a lot of his films. He is one eclectic filmmaker.

what was that movie he was in
…about being an organizer trying to unionize coal miners? That was good.
by Black Francis on Aug 31, 2009 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
No
That was the one where he played a coal miner and his kid became a rocket scientist or something. That was good, too, I thought. But this is what I was thinking of: Matewan

Sheriff July Johnson
From Lonesome Dove. I’ll always associate him with that role.

I think about him in all kinds of movies
The trainer in Seabiscuit.
Bomb investigator in The Kingdom.
He’s actually a pretty decent actor, if not a bit one-dimensional.

Reminds me a little of Randy Johnson who has a “Horizontal W”.

royalsreview.com is such an entertaining read this year
Maybe it’s because of how bad the team is. I came to enjoy lookout landing last year, an awful year for the M’s, so maybe the writing is more fun to read when it’s from a fan that’s been beaten like a red-headed stepchild.

I think cutting Freel was a Godfather move
by the Rangers to make sure Newberg toes the line and unquestionably touts the Rangers front office.

You are ahead of me
I will have to wait for my grant from the Berkshire Hathaway Trust to even bid. And it would be about $333 million for 72% of the franchise, another 12% vested debt to hold for Nolan (and any partners), and let the remaining sixth float to local consortia. Somehow I failed to connect with Warren Buffett!
