I'm so glad I put on Rambo over watching the rest of this game.

i just started recording it 20 minutes ago, might go ahead and watch it now.
never cared enough to seek it out, but on cable hey why not.
the preceding post was a great success.
Oh, I'm watching the DVD. 2008 version.
Is it on TV?

maybe it debut’d a long time ago, just the first time i’ve noticed it.
the preceding post was a great success.
It's so brutal.
I love it.

There has been much Millwood bashing lately
and he deserves it. He is going to get his 180 innings. I actually think the Rangers could get 2-3 good months from him next year. Trade him at the end of June and put Feliz in the rotation if he isn’t already there.

Millwood had a great first half and contributed a lot
But I can already see us getting the same ole’ Millwood next season that were all use to.
We would have to pick up a significant portion of that salary to trade him....
plus he’s not going to give a shit next year and will probably come into Surprise at 300 pounds.

He won't be good for 2-3 months next year. We might be lucky to get 1.
He’s got his 12M and he knows no one is going to give him a multi year deal at the age of 36. You can forget about trading him too.

I think it's safe to say we are done.
3 and 5 out with 22 left…not happening. Good season fellas. See ya next year.

for gods sake..
this is becoming parody. literally every time the rangers lose to a bad team or lose 2 in a row everyone says they are out of it.
the longer you wait to actually get to within a game or tied the lower your chances are, but they arn’t dying every other day.
seriously, its entirely possible the rangers could be 1.5 games out in 20 hours.
the preceding post was a great success.

Not that I don't want to believe...
but with the way this past week has gone it just feels like it’s not in the cards. I hope I’m wrong though.

I've felt this way for awhile now.
It’s just not our year. Fortunately, the future isn’t as grim as it has been in the past.

Gagree
Far from over. And if this kind of ass-kicking at home doesn’t get the team pissed off and fired up for the stretch run, then they don’t have the stomach for the fight.

well, its been pretty damn unlikely
for quite a while. With Youngs and Hamiltons injury, and Millwoods and Hollands recent suckitude, it just hasn’t helped a team that needs to get white hot to have any chance.

Boston plays a DH tomorrow.
If they get swept and we sweep the M’s it is only 1 back in the WC. Mathmatically still possible but the fat lady is warming up.

I thought Tampa had a winning record against Boston this season?
But I agree on the Rays getting swept tomorrow. Boston is throwing out Beckett and Buchholz, I believe.

How sad is it
That, out of the 5 guys in our roto, we are comfortable with just one — Scott feldman of all people!!!! Milly – done. Hunter – okay. Breakable Brandon – keep it up. Holland – I love you, kid. See you next year.

Fun fact
Our starters this year are actually second to last (ahead of only Baltimore) in pRAA this year.
Not quite sure what that means, if anything, but it’s odd.

When did this game end?
How long ago did they start back and finish the 9th?

I may be oversimplifying it
but with the recent dip in the rotation – outside of Feldman – is there any justification as to whether Salty being injured has had anything to do with the recent quality of the rotation?? I know its probably a stretch, but one of his strentghs this year was his game calling and he had built a solid rapport with some of the starters. Just throwing that out there….

FUCK FUCKING BASEBALL, even when this thing is going good, it finds a way to punt us straight in the testicles
I'm pretty sure this is still somehow the fault of Jon Daniels and Chris Davis though.

They need to sit Millwood the rest of the year.
If the players union files a grievance, just show some of his last few starts. The Rangers would win in a landside.
The landside has great views

In the interest of quicker games Ron should just tell the ump he's pulling the Feliz card and the ump should rule the inning over.--Sherman McCoy on Sept. 4, 2009
no they wouldn't
you have a 13 year veteran, that started the season as an ace, pitching for a team in a pennant race, who somehow still has an ERA under 4. If they sat him now we would end up paying him after losing the grievance anyways. Not to mention the fact the impact it would have on future attempted FA signings (when this damn thing gets back on its feet).

The depressing part is that even if we somehow make the playoffs
RW will start Millwood in game 1 because he is the “staff ace” and we will start the series 0-1. Millwood just isn’t giving us a chance to win.

this isn't the best thread to ask this question, but
on what basis can anyone dictate to the Rangers organization who they should play?
What if tomorrow the team signed me for $X with a 2010 vesting option of $Y. And then they decided I actually can’t play baseball at a major league level and they don’t play me a single inning which naturally means I don’t get my opportunity to reach the conditions that trigger my option year.
How is this not okay? I doubt there’s a clause in Millwood’s contract that says he has to be allowed to pitch unless he’s injured.
not that simple
but you have to realize that baseball is bullshit and the players union has a ridiculous amount of power
basically, they will say you fucked over player x and you have to pay him anyways…
it is all part of the collective bargaining…this is also why baseball has had the strike and they always threaten to do so again when it comes up
mostly, the simplest explanation is simple bullshit
Fuck Mike Estabrook
If you bench him because...
…he’s not good enough to play, you won’t have any issues.
If you bench him because you don’t want to pay him, even though he’d have played if he didn’t have the incentive clause/vesting option/whatever, you’ll get popped.

I pride myself in being very rational
and I’m not usually “that guy,” but I’ve been drinking, so I will lower my standards. Fuck you, Millwood. Get your fat ass on a treadmill and start acting like a professional fucking athlete. You should be in better physical condition than my dad, who is a facilites manager. Please take some pride in your profession (and paycheck) and square your shit away so The Rangers don’t miss the playoffs. Fat fuck.

I don't understand
why the minute Millwood starts pitching poorly everyone just assumes it’s because he’s lazy. It is quite possible to suck and not be lazy.
G G G E-flat_______ F F F D__________....
Well that game sucked.
It drizzled the entire game. It flat out rained for most of it. Millwood looked like crap. I’m tired of watching him go out there and suck every time he starts lately.
I’m told my twitter posts got more and more irate the longer the game went on. I’m not surprised.

This mother [bleeper] is making $10, $12, $14 million, he ain’t going to be batting ninth [in 2010]. I’m going to make sure he earns his money. But right now I have to put him there because he’s struggling. Next year, if we have Rios batting ninth we’re in deep [crap] once again.’’

2:05 start time today...
maybe.
The Rangers-Mariners doubleheader will not start until at least 2:05 today because of the weather. More up-dates will come later. The gates will not open until 1 p.m. at the earliest. The Rangers will give us another update around noon, or kickoff time for the Cowboys-Bucs.
