NFL Week 1 GDT2
The perfect compliment to a Rangers DBH thread.
This is not as good as any album Cheap Trick made in the 1970's, but it's probably better than anything they've made since the 1980's. First, the good. The loud 'n' fast songs really feel like the band is having fun banging them out, and that's contagious for the listener. Now the bad. The best of these songs, "When the Lights Are Out," is a Slade cover and was recorded in 1976. Also, half of The Latest is comprised of ballads. Slowed-down Cheap Trick is usually good too, but never so much in one place. Likeable, not loveable. - paul

Our running game looks terrible.
If we can’t get to the outside, we’re toast. They’re dominating inside.

Thank goodness we were somehow able to replace T.O.
Because WR’s are NOT interchangeable in the NFL.
I mean I cant tell you how many sleepless night I spent worried how we would replace TO.
Oh wait, I actually didn’t care at all, my bad.

I am officially very concerned for why we don't have a single sack today.

Is there any chance we could have a closely-contested pass play where nobody calls for a flag?

So Barbie was free off the end...
think if Byron doesn’t throw the ball, Barbie actually hits him or just pats him on the ass?

You could hear the sound as about two linebackers hit him in the back
after he got across the line. Didn’t look too good/

Brilliant.
In one league, I own Slaton and Williams, who combined for 14 points. Joseph Addai had 12. Still leading 53 to 37 with Welker and Rodgers to play, but my opponent has Brady and Moss.

Ouch.
That’s harsh. But RB production? Especially from, say, a first-rounder?

Well the offense looked pretty good...
but the defense. Not so much.

I'm just hoping the offensive line doesn't get Romo killed again.
I think the D should get better as the season goes on. But the offense looked pretty good today, apart from some dodgy throws from Romo (which I suppose, always happens).

What a surprise
Wade Phillips coached team wins. In other news, Sun to rise in the east tomorrow.
AHAHAHAAAAAAA @ Texans. How do you lose at home to a rookie QB. What a disaster.
They need to hire Jerry Jones ASAP to learn how to evaluate talent down there.

And lulz at Dolphins
I guess the great Bill Parcells couldn’t uh, guru them to victory today.
On a more serious topic, all preseason a common thing I heard was Cowboys dont have T.O., so theyre going to be forced to put together the 14 play 80 yard scoring drives with possession receivers that were common in the preseason, and that people were worried those types of drives were hard to sustain without something going wrong on one of the many plays.
I kinda figured Garett was just holding it close to the vest for the preseason, we’ve always looked pretty bad in preseason since he’s been here, and by the looks of the long scoring plays today, so far so good.

TO
What we lose is the deep throw threat. We don’t have anyone that can legitimately stretch the defense. Miles Austin may, heavy emphasis on may, give us that eventually but right now for us to have a big play its gonna take either a perfect catch and throw or a busted coverage. Against the teams in the East I don’t think we will have as any of those like we got today.

TO wasn't great last year...
W/ Out the SF game he would’ve had mediocre numbers, he couldn’t beat press coverage, all they had to do was bracket a safety over the top and TO was taken out of the game, had the least amount of yardage since his rookie year and he got a year older. Now if TO lights up NE it might be a different story but I doubt he gets more than 50 yards against them
