MY back and DH'ing
The Rangers need a shot of energy? Well, tonight they are going to seem Young again.
Michael Young is returning to the Rangers lineup just two weeks after suffering a significant left hamstring strain. Young ran bases this afternoon and pronounced himself fit to play. He was inserted into the No. 2 spot in the lineup with the only limitation being that he will play DH.
Here’s the full lineup: LF Julio Borbon, DH Michael Young, RF David Murphy, CF Marlon Byrd, 2B Ian Kinsler, 1B Chris Davis, C Ivan Rodriguez, 3B Esteban German, SS Elvis Andrus.

That can't be correct
Davis is batting 6th! So did he lose the pacifier or training wheels?

This is a big night for LSB
The baby boy who has been propped up the entire season is actually getting some responsibility and a chance to prove he’s not here solely because the GM drafted him.
The 6 Hole in the line-up. WOW!!!

Josey
I asked you this twice already this week, and still no response:
Why do you act like JD favors “his guys” as if no other GM in the history of organized sports does this? Because they pretty much all do.
That’s a weak line of argument, even for you.

Cruz
Man, you’d think Cruz was the one with a big option about to vest due to games played.

Thank God we got Cruz out of there!!!! He was just freaking killing us.

OT question
What do the 1 and 2 in your username mean? Elvis & Teagarden / Ramon Vasquez (“12”) / Geno Petralli (“12”) or someone else?

Young returns on the first day with no rain
He returns the same day the Angels begin a critical series with another team beginning a critical series
He returns against some spare named Edgar Gonzalez
Young returns a day after I bitched the team out using my ‘outside voice’, fifteen rows behind their dugout
And he returns with the team failing to have scored a run in it’s last 19 innings, and six games

for some reason it didn't occur to me we were shutout in back to back games
wow.
the preceding post was a great success.

It's awesome knowing that one of those teams is going to lose for the next three days
But what pisses me off is that we have an off-day Thursday and the Red Sox and Angels don’t.
That’s why winning yesterday was critical

This would be a great time to win like 7 in a row...
I like face coming back to hopefully provide a spark and win some ball games.

From Todd Wills' MLB Preview
McCarthy can build use momentum when he takes the mound at pitcher-friendly Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, considering he’s allowed 13 home runs in 76 1/3 innings this season.
McCarthy is going to be pretty lonely in Oakland. And “can build use”? Does anyone proof read this stuff?

Yay
Considering Hamilton coming back probably won’t mean shit in terms of production, getting MY back this soon is the best we can hope for right now.
Now, of MY can just remember how to hit with RISP…
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock

Shit...
stop benching Cruz for Murphy.
I back you up a lot Wash, but you’re fucking pissing me off with this anti-Cruz bullshit.

In the last 7 days/games (SSS)
Murphy is out hitting Cruz.

I. Don't. Care.
Cruz >>>>> Murphy in every sense of the game.
Defensively
Power
Average
Speed
Arm
It makes zero sense to start Murphy over Cruz. I’m getting really tired of the fucking “gut”.

Yeah, but even if you go by that, Byrd has been worse than both of them the last 7 days.
Bench Byrd, and stick Borbon in CF for a learning experience since our playoff chances are pretty much realistically over.

Meh...
I’d still play Byrd over Murphy.
I’d go Borbon LF, Andrus SS, Young DH, Cruz RF, Kinsler 2B, Byrd CF, Davis 1B, Pudge C, German 3B.
But that’s just me I guess.

Byrd has been better than Murphy in the last 7 days.
Using OPS
Last 7 days
Borbon: 840
Murph: .789
Cruz: .639
Byrd: .550
If you go back 28 days, Cruz is clearly comes out on top
Cruz: .940
Byrd: .848
Murph: .835
Borbon: .794
