Differing opinions? Bullshit.
AJM said you could probably stick a fork in the Rangers and DSheppard made a .gif with a fork stuck in AJM. DSheppard didn’t get banned.
I don't care what your opinion is, as long as you present it in a way that is not full of condescension, arrogance, and general assholery.
You have failed even that minimum bar multiple times. You are completely unable to present your opinion, however well-founded or logical you think it to be, with any decorum, tact, or even the slightest appreciation that you may be wrong.

Yes.
I even looked it up.
They lost 4 of 5 after that series-opening win against the Twins, and that was definitely the first time they got to 17 over.
You know what's absolutely bizarre?
Thinking about the fact that the Rangers could win another game, tread water the rest of the season and still win 90 games.

Not I
The bad start by the rookie pitcher wasn’t what bothered me so much about that game as that the offense went into operation shutdown after they got it close. More of the same offensive problems just when you think the offense is awakening.
LOL.
They scored 10 runs but didn’t score 2 more so that is a sign the offense is no good.
The offense had nothing to do with that loss.
Did you actually watch the game and see the difference in the offensive approach when they were scoring and when they stopped?
I saw a team trying to score runs that got a ton of hits and runs.
Sometimes the hits fall in and sometimes Davis shots to the wall fall a few feet short and end up as 1 run instead of 3. They didn’t change any “offensive approach”.
Well boys and girls

Which of his injuries were random?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
Tonight's.
The wall injuries weren’t random. That they have persisted so long and have led to such a loss of power in a 28-year-old are puzzling, imho.
Were they the only incident this year they wouldn’t lead me to think much of them though.
How was tonight's injury random?
And why is it puzzling that Hamilton might continue to feel the effects (including a loss of power) after what was, by all accounts, an unexpectedly rapid return from a serious injury ~ one which, as I understand it (and here I’ll note I’m not a clinician), is exactly the sort of injury one would expect to rob a player of his power?
Also, how did tonight’s injury become multiple?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
Multiple, as in "lots of random injuries"?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
I clarified that the wall injuries weren't random.
Tonight’s is the first that would be random, imho.
He definitely seems very fragile for a 28-year-old. But like I said, if the multiple injuries were all there were, I wouldn’t suspect there was anything more to this.
You posted that there were "lots of random injuries."
I’m just trying to clarify why you said that, and why you’re puzzled by Hamilton’s lack of power after returning very quickly from a serious injury that, if not completely healed, is exactly the sort of thing that would be expected to keep him from batting at full strength.
And, again, what made tonight’s injury random?
And let’s just stipulate that anything you state from here on out will be your honest opinion, and worth what it’s worth. OK?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
Until you answer the questions.
I’m not sure why you’re having such a hard time with that.
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
u said lots of random injuries
now you’re saying that tonights injury is the only random one. So if tonight is the first, was it the 2 home runs last night that keyed you in on him relapsing or him starting to do good the past month?
I was wrong. Not "lots of random injuries".
The “ADD meds”, previous relapse, and crappy season are the main indicators, imho.
The first step towards the healing process
Admit you were wrong. What to go Dawg.
2009 Texas Rangers: Why The Hell Not Us?--ghtd36 on May 13, 2009
No.
It was the odd explanation about them.
ADD meds can be thrown out of whack by alcohol consumption as well, fwiw.
could be a possibility
but one good season followed by one bad season could be caused by a number of things.
No doubt.
Like I said, just a hunch.
I was already wondering about it before the admission of one relapse earlier in the year. If you’ve ever known any true alcoholics and drug addicts, I’m sure you understand why some would suspect that a wild relapse night was a completely isolated event.
What about Hamilton's injury tonight was random?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
I know, I really am.
But you still haven’t answered the question.
It’s sort of pathetic that you’re running away from this.

Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
There you go.
One step closer to clarity.
Now, what about tonight’s injury struck you as random?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
LOL.
I had already clarified that 5 posts ago, fwiw.
Kind of pointless to answer your questions when you obviously don’t read the answers.
Stop evading.
What about tonight’s injury struck you as random?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
Oh, I'm having lots of fun.
But why can’t you answer a simple question?
What about Hamilton’s injury tonight was random?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
nah its just the relapse lol.
texas dawg is unbelievable
Wow, for someone going to Cornell you aren't very smart!
Josh’s injuries this year both involved core muscle group and that group accounts for a large percentage of your power. So there is nothing surprising about his loss of power at all.
"We have a better chance to win with other guys in the lineup," said Blalock, who is hitting .190 the past 30 games. "That’s something I’ve got to deal with."
How were the injuries "random"?
There was nothing mysterious or random about them. He ran into a wall and injured himself. Then he ran into another wall and reaggravated the injury. What about that suggests a relapse coverup? Do you think the running into walls was staged?

Well obviously he ran into the wall because he was drunk
That’s the only reason I run into walls.

Tell me
Is it fun trolling a message board, knowing your life is too pathetic for you to actually be a productive human being?
How is posting my opinion of what is wrong with him "trolling"?
Man the lockstep mentality here is something incredibly fierce. Funny stuff.
MAYBE into alcohol, although this is equally irresponsible to accuse him of
but the dude is tested like twice a week… so there is no way he’s into drugs
Do you just sit around trying to think up the most inflamatory thing to say?

Oh, the drama.
If he’s hitting HRs and playing like he did last night I couldn’t care less how much he’s drinking. Just a hunch.
I know your schtick is just "a difference of opinion"
but you almost never have the same opinion as the rest of the people (Ranger fans) on this board. That means a) you are just one of those people who enjoys taking contrary opinions or b) you are just an ass trying to incite people. We already have one persona like that on the board. We do not need another. Find another bit.

Why do "the rest of the people" on this board all have the exact same opinion...
…so that my opinion is (according to you) always different from theirs?
And how funny is it that opinions of mine such as strongly defending the management of this team (i.e. the manager, owners, etc.) are (according to you) strongly opposed by “the rest of the people” here?
Why does differing opinion threaten this place so much? (Look at how insane the place goes over one dude supporting Hank Blalock, for example.) Truly bizarre… and funny.
LOL.
Dude, it’s the internet.
And I own the book, fwiw.
I think it's a little irresponsible to pervert a medium for your own amusement and at the expense of people trying to have decent discussions.

I'm thinking of making a fanpost
with a poll, closed to discussion. Maybe it would send a message. Think I should?
by Black Francis on Sep 2, 2009 10:14 PM CDT up reply actions
It wouldn't send a message.
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: "Can't take a fucking to save their lives" (lisa w, 2009).
to certain people it may.
The subject of the question doesn’t give a damn, clearly.
by Black Francis on Sep 2, 2009 10:16 PM CDT up reply actions
I'm not doing that.
I simply believe things about this team and organization that are opposed by the lockstep mentality of most here.
yeah, like they have money...
I can't help it. I’m an asshole.

so,
does your intellectuality keep you from understanding ‘jokes’?
by kevinkinsler on Sep 2, 2009 10:27 PM CDT up reply actions
Sure. I understand jokes. Not sure how that "joke" really
applied to what I said though. I certainly wasn’t claiming to be any martyr. Simply explaining my posts, fwiw. Not a big deal.
Right, and I have no problem with that
But I think that the cloak of anonymity the internet gives a user may influence how confrontational and spiteful some people may be. You responding, “Dude, it’s the internet,” after I made a quip about how little likability you show on here only highlights the problem rather than giving a suitable explanation for it.

Curious
You’ve been banned twice, and have circumvented both bans. Why did you do this?
by Black Francis on Sep 2, 2009 10:24 PM CDT up reply actions
Because he enjoys this back-and-forth arguing
It’s his raison d’etre. Sound like anyone else you know?

Very, very odd, imho.
I'm not sure what you mean.
I’d like him to answer the question about why he circumvented his bans.

Who gives a shit
Just ignore him and let Ben play whack-a-dawg.
Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock
LOL

Of course it is.
Gotta maintain the lockstep.
There is some consensus of opinion on this site because we are not a random sample of people
We are all rabid Ranger fans.
"What ... 92 miles per hour?" Feldman scoffed. "That's not gas. Feliz throws gas."
by NorCalRangersFan on Sep 2, 2009 10:36 PM CDT up reply actions
I know plenty of rabid Rangers fans that don't
passionately despise numerous players on the team and constantly root for them to fail, get hurt, etc. I know plenty of rabid Rangers fans that appreciate the job our manager has done this year and don’t bash him at every opportunity. Etc. (Actually, it’s pretty odd to me that “Rangers fans” would do such things.)
I'm sorry, but what?!
Who do we wish to fail? I want every starting pitcher to pitch complete game shutouts and every position player to knock the cover off the ball. There is some Josey baiting thrown out there where Blalock is mocked, but I think everyone wants him to do well (as seen in this thread below).

I don't think the reaction in a GDT represents the majority of the board
The GDTs seem to be mostly a couple dozen regular posters. There are a lot of regulars that don’t frequent those threads.
"You can probably stick a fork in the Rangers' playoff chances for 2009." - AJM on 7/26 with the team 4.5 games out
If you take everything in te GDTs at face value
You’d think we want every Ranger DFA’s (including Feliz)
