As I said on Facebook...
I would be betting on NE -3.5 and NO outright hardcore. I don’t think it’s going to matter that Wes Welker won’t be playing. Pats by 10.
betting on the nfl
is borderline impossible. everyonce in awhile you see an intriguing line. there was nothing this week i would have touched with a 10 foot pole. college football is pretty easy though
Earlier this year
There was as dead solid a lock as I’ve seen in a while..Florida was favored by 73 over whatever scrub team they played in wk 1.
Knowing college shortened up the game clock rules last year, no WAY they were gonna cover that.
And sure enough they only won 63-7 or something. Not close to covering.
florida having to cover 30
was pretty easy yesterday too. thats way too vicious of a rivalry to be that much of a blowout.
Yeah
73? I mean really, 73?
You’d figure the Gators coaches would call off the dogs way before 73 anyway, worst case scenario.
I mean, if the other team scored 7 points, the Gators would have to score 80 to cover. When does that happen. Dead lock.

Sean Payton
Impressive.
I thought he was a decent OC in Dallas, but I wasn’t that torn up about him leaving or anything. If anything he’s outperformed what I thought a little bit. Theyre perennially a explosive offense. I’m sure Parcells was holding him back some.
Felix Jones needs a good game tonight.
And I want man coverage with that fucking box stacked stopping the run.
Make Eli beat us,which he probably won’t.

So
How many offensive co-coordinators do you think Belichick will hire this week?
Cus it’s all about the talent.
Heh...
The Raiders got a win today in KC. Probably one of the 4 or 5 they will get this year.
Damn did Russell look like crap again though.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
Steelers and Pats
Both suck.
I was disgusted about how the various power rankings usually had those teams 1-2, even after week 1. Mostly due to AFC bias. Both these teams are pretty mediocre imo. And I’m so sick of hearing what a amazing clutch QB Rothlisberger is.
But, I'm pretty confident
I didn’t watch the game last week but from the score the G-men weren’t that impressive.
Fucking stupid Garrett
Why would you trot the back out of the backfield on 3rd and 2.
Incomplete pass.
If there's one thing that annoys me about Garrett
Is why he doesn’t take the downhill play calls.
3rd and 2, you run, you make it 90% of the time.
Why make it hard?
The other is that he loves to run on 2nd and 10 and set up 3rd and long..EVERY TIME.
OT
One thing I really like about the Cowboys this year is how they focused on special teams, and even brought a special kicker for touchbacks etc.
Last year field position killed us to an insane degree.
But it’s just heartening to see the Cowboys are taking rational, proactive approaches to improving key areas like that.
Romo
Surgeon.
One thing I think will really help this year is Romo, another year of seasoning, familiar with Garett’s offense, a veteran, but still young and in his physical prime.
As worried as I was about Eli in this game, I at the same time think Romo should theoretically not be giving a thing up in that QB matchup. They have a great QB, but so do we. That’s nice.
Big if
But say we win this game.
The next schedule is
Carolina
@Denver
@KC
Atlanta
Seattle
@Philly
I guess your opinion of each NFL team changes fast each week, but right now, that looks like 7-0 going to Philly to me. Probably the scariest team to me in there before Philly might actually be @Denver. The rest look pretty winnable.
what the fuck kinda throw was that?

Unreal
So much for this game.
I dont think this is exactly a fair reflection of these teams but, it’s over.
OK, maybe not quite over but damn.
Well
If we do lose it’s not too crushing. We’ll be 1-1, a game back. With a easy schedule coming up. And didn’t Washington lose today? Philly losing helps a lot. I think we can beat NYG up there too, depending on how well we play the rest of this game.
Nice defense
These are the little things that dont show up on the stat sheet I’m hoping Wade’s defense gives us this year.
Still a ball game now.
Man I knew he'd throw it on 3rd and goal
Garett is such a pussy. I’d have stuffed it in the middle again.
It worked though, whew.
We're winning this game
50 flukes for the Giants are the only reason theyre ahead on the scoreboard.
Now this is gonna be controversial
Giants fans are gonna be crying like little bitches if that nullified TD ends up meaning something.
lmao.. ok..
Through 6 quarters.. you guys have 0 sacks, 0 INT’s. You’ve done a great job on Jacobs but Eli is having a great game so far.
Pass interference in the end zone not called
Freak play number 40,011 so far this half you guys got away with.
Also...
I’m not saying the Giants are playing a great game. I’m saying that your defense looks like shit through 6 quarters.
You're retarded
Do you even watch football?
Our defense has been pretty good and kept this from being even worse. You cant run the ball AT ALL and the only thing you have is Eli being Eli occasionally, a bunch of turnovers and lucky plays to have the lead.
Oh I watch Football...
and I’ve watched Byron Leftwich and Eli Manning have 6 pretty good quarters against you guys.
I dont
Even think Eli is having that good a game.
He’s just hit a few long passes. You’re not going to stop a good QB and sophisticated passing game like the Giants all the time.
This score should be Dallas leading by a bunch, period. Then you wouldn’t be thinking Eli is having a good game even if had made all the same throws.
Tony Dungy at halftime just now “Dallas is dominating this game”
Steve Smith, 5 Recs / 81 yards
Mario Manningham 5 Recs / 55 Yards / 1 TD
That’s Steve Smith and Mario Manningham. That’s not exactly Owens/Moss…
Neither
Is Crayton/Williams, but how many yards did they have last week?
Manning, 11/18 149 yards..not that great a line.
Steve Smith
Uh, isn’t he supposed to be pretty good?
Anyway who cares, receivers are just bodies. No TO isnt exactly hurting the Cowboys.
The Pass D is giving up too many big plays.
But Jacobs and his 6’4 255 4.4 speed 5.0 yards a carry is shitting the bed.
by TooLegitToQuit on Sep 20, 2009 9:17 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions
I mostly disagree
If the turnovers weren’t putting us in such bad positions we wouldn’t be behind, and the defense would be fine.
Like I said, you’re not going to stop a team like the Giants all the time.
I’m not looking at this game and saying “our defense sucks” at all. I’m looking at it and saying wow, we’re dominating this game and theyre winning due to some freak plays and turnovers.
So?
I gues he should be open more because you should be behind by two TD’s right now. The end.
How many Cowboys recievers have been wide open? Difference being, they get called back by penalties.
Neither am I,I just think The Pass D needs to tighten up.
Particularly Scandrick.

Keith Olbermann's smug face always pisses me off
Why would you have such a political firebrand do your halftime show?
Is Sean Hannity going to announce the scores next? People wouldn’t stand for that.
Putrid D (Newman is utter crap these days)
and more Romo nonsense.
Now this drive
Is some sucky D.
Still, we only need to keep them out of the end zone to keep it a 1 score game.
We need a turnover
Get some of that luck back.
INT returned for a TD would only begin to even things out a bit.
A lot
But I think you can get in standing room only for $29, which isnt bad at all to see the new stadium.
Nice run Jones..
Man that Giants D sucks :)
How the hell did that guy hit the video board on the punt?
From the looks of it, that seems like quite a feat…
he was aiming for it

Giants get another fluke
More great defense nullified :)
Now they called PI. This game is over, the refs have handed it to the Giants.
This team should be running the football 60 percent of the time.
Take the ball OUT of Romo’s hands.
Yeah
Somehow I had a premonition the play was going to break down and Romo run it in if we scored there. But wasnt expecting a designed sneak.
With the very satisfied look on Philips face after that TD I actually wonder if Philips told Garrett to make that call.
Wow
What a great game. Guess I can say that now that the Boys are winning :)
We dodged a bullet on that last Eli scramble, but the defense is still playing well. Crowd into it now for Dallas too very bad sign for NYG…
Well
If we DO end up winning this game (still big if), arent we the clear best in the division two weeks in?
All the Cowboys doubters in the DFW media like Cowlishaw will be stuffed in the face then, and I’ll laugh.
But wow, ANOTHER pic by Romo..wow, at what point do you do something about Romo?
Wow
This game is back and forth like a heavyweight fight.
Good thing is we’re ahead by 4. They need a TD to go ahead.
Just wait
I’m sure Romo will give them one soon enough.

Just got home from the Cowboys game
left at halftime because I had a party pass.
Take it from me — party pass not worth it at all. Stadium is awesome though.

are restricted
just to the end zone or can you sit behind any section? and can you go to different levels for it?

Yeah we didn't know any of that when we got there
Apparently our tickets were for the east side of the stadium party pass areas only. You can go to any of the 3 or 4 levels, but for most of the game they restrict you from going to other parts of the stadium. At one point, they had let too many people onto the upper levels so that if you went down to the bottom, they wouldn’t let you back up.
Anyways, I was there for 4 hours until halftime and I never saw the field for any game action. I was watching it on the video boards — and honestly, if I’m gonna do that I might as well just stay home and watch it on my comfy as hell couch.
But, the stadium is awesome — I recommend everyone checking it out once at least, even if you just take a tour.

Crowd seems fairly dead tonight
I wonder if having the roof open makes a difference. It was pretty rocking in that preseason game with it closed.
Dammit
Rapidly losing confidence we can win this game..
Now trailing.
Romo has played pretty bad, not just the INTs but several other plays.
Because he thinks he's the new Favre?
I don’t know how many more losses its going to take before the team (and Garrett) realizes that they need to take the ball out of Romo’s hands and put them into Barber/Jones/Choice’s hands.

may be close to being over.

Fuck
Eli is a surgeon. You can just tell when he drops back certain plays you’re screwed before he even throws.
Well, if we’re going to pretend the Cowboys have any chance, need to hold to FG or less here.
Down by 6 7:37 left
Down by six kinda means must have TD, which is tough. Getting down to the nitty gritty.
Maybe this Giants D is just that good
Maybe Romo isn’t just having a bad night, maybe there’s just not much there.
Well
I wasnt buying the whole " run all the time and you’ll win this game" BS but it’s working right now :)

Well
Since according to the media and fans before this season, the Cowboys were the worst team ever to lace up cleats, I think 33-31 last second FG loss to the Giants is big time moral victory.
Could be moral, but losing to an NFCE rival is never a moral victory.
Just gotta go beat Carolina’s inept ass next week.
by TooLegitToQuit on Sep 20, 2009 11:02 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions
Yep.
That was a performance reminiscent of the Pittsburgh game last season. The rest of the team plays well enough to win and Romo is bad enough to change the outcome of the game.
Yeah
I wanna say Manning played so much better, like the game of Rothlisbergers I watch last week, he’s very tall, it helps a lot, straight passes etc.
But then you look at it and we had 4 turnovers and still almost won. So, I dont know. Does that mean Romo was really good, we almost won anyway?
I’m calling for Kitna. No way that’ll happen though.
This team just seems snakebit in big games now. We’re like Ohio St. At what point do you start wondering if it’s Romo?
Obviously, one of those INTs (the one Witten kicked to the opponent) was a fluke.
But Romo simply did not play well tonight, and it makes me question those people like Bob Sturm who insist that Romo is an elite quarterback.
Romo doesn’t have to be a world-beater every time out. He just has to be consistently good to be in the top echelon of QBs.
And it’s games like this that make me think he’s not only not in that echelon, but he’s not close.
"I love winning." - rockin_rangers, on May 16, 2009
I hate Eli.
But he killed us in the 4th. He just picked apart that soft zone shit we kept throwing down. The defense didn’t do too terribly badly considering how many shitty spots the O put it in, but in the end, just couldn’t shut down Manning.

Well, he's right.
Can’t blame the offensive line, the receivers or the running backs. You could put some blame on the defense for their collapse down the stretch, but really, this one’s on America’s Sweetheart.
"I love winning." - rockin_rangers, on May 16, 2009
I'll give him some props on his interview.
Apparently somebody took him aside and told him that the post-game interviews he was giving during the December collapse last season made him sound like a gutless douche. If he has even an average game last night, the Cowboys win by two touchdowns.
When it comes right down to it...
Your rush D was great for most of the game. Your running game was great all game.
However, Romo was bad enough and the Pass D was just absolutely terrible enough to give that away.
Their pass coverage schemes last night were flawed.
The left way too many open zones on the field. What was really frustrating was that they didn’t make any adjustments at half time to address it. Is Cupcake still running the defense? Or did they hire a real DC in the offseason?
id say part of the blame
should go to garrett, i mean we all know romo sucked, but then why keep dialing up pass after pass when you were absolutely raping on the ground game?

And you thought we asked bad questions. One guy asked Wade Phillips, “Do you miss Jessica Simpson?” which brought an end to Phillips’ Q and A. At least the guy waited until the end to ask the question.
By the time Tony Romo came to the podium, at least 15 or so fans with credentials were ushered out of the room.
It appeared a few of them attempted to get inside the locker room after the game without success.
