Well the bright side is this season was way more fun than last.

Hopefully next season is even better. I guess we still have feldman making it to 20 wins to look forward too.

Dutch needs to have a learning experience off the field with Mike Maddux

I don’t see the difference between continuing to run him out there right now and continuing to run Millwood out there anymore.

Dutch was rushed this year, and aside from that one dominating 5-start stretch it’s been painfully apparent. Skip him the next time through and let him work on his shit.

Holland will be fine

Retain faith.. His K/BB ratio is still the best amongst this team’s rotation, last I checked. The HR rate is a concern, but currently his HR/FB rate is unbelievably high. That’s going to regress to the mean, and I have a feeling we’ll be swooning for Dutch again in no time.

Anybody see this, linked over on the sidebar under the fanhouse thing? ----->
Bradley gave the Daily Herald the privilege of a one-on-one interview with him on Saturday, but as is his normal routine, he gave short and terse answers to all of the questions he was asked. Well, except for one. When he was asked if he’s enjoyed his time in Chicago, Bradley became an open book.

“Not really,” he said. "It’s just not a positive environment. I need a stable, healthy, enjoyable environment. There’s too many people everywhere in your face with a microphone asking the same questions repeatedly. Everything is just bashing you. You got out there and you play harder than anybody on the field and never get credit for it. It’s just negativity.

“And you understand why they haven’t won in 100 years here, because it’s negative. It’s what it is.”

Asked whether he was talking about the fans, the media or even the Cubs organization, he replied: “It’s everything. It’s everybody.”

Sounds like Milton needs to come back where Ron can babysit him.

I wouldn't mind personally.

If the Cubs ate a good chunk of that contract and was willing to take Millwood in return (even if the Rangers would have to eat some of that deal), it would be a pretty big boost for this offense.

If we have to put up with Ron managing this team, there might as well be a tangible reason to justify it.

It's a lot more to do with the fact that this team desperately needs guaranteed production out of the DH spot.

Lack of Consistency

I think the idea (correct me if I am wrong) is that many relievers are not consistent. The possibility that a grab bag of NRI relievers this ST would probably produce somebody similar to Grilli circa 2009 is probably greater than Grilli 2010 being as productive as he was earlier this season.

Like I said in the GDT

I think that was Wash throwing in the towel. He knows this offense isn’t scoring right now, and this team is terrible at coming back late (second-lowest OPS in the AL after the 7th inning). I think he pulled Feliz there because he was at 20 pitches and wanted him to be avaiable again in two days instead of three, and he didn’t think we where gonna come back.

And I get that, to a certain degree, but just like with Feldman Saturday night, I think you let Feliz try to get one more out there.
