Gutless Astros fire Cecil Cooper
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10105396/Houston-Astros-fire-manager-Cecil-Cooper
So, 70-79 gets Cecil Cooper fired. Pretty sure that type of record his first 3 years earned Ron Washington a lifetime contract didn't it?
Just more evidence of the dual standard between the clubs.
You can bet the good 'ol boy Astros wont be hiring any minority replacement, either. I think Obama should investigate.

I have no idea if you are happy, sad or indifferent
And why do you never comment on, oh, I don’t know, the Rangers? Last time you ventured out of your cave your 50 or so comments all pertained to the Cowboys.

Its simple really
McLane is angry with Obama for all of the uber-liberal bills that he and uber-liberal Congress have created.
Obama’s black … Cooper’s black.
McLane fired Cooper.
So naturally, it’s Obama’s fault that Cooper lost his job and therefore Obama is not creating jobs as he promised during the campaign and should be impeached.

Really?
I don’t think Sharky could connect two points let alone four.
I’ve figure out 5 concerns in this post:
1) Wash has had some crappy records as a manager. He should not have a gotten a longer term contract.
2) Houston was wrong for firing Cooper. Should have kept the crappy manager.
3) Rangers were right for extending Wash – someone thinks Sharks is crappy?
4) Astros hate black people.
5) Obama should investigate the Astros for hating black people. But Sharky hates Obama. I’m super confused.

I dont see whats so hard to understand
The Astros hired a incompetent manager, and they fire him after less than two poor seasons.
The Rangers do the same, and after 2 terrible seasons, they basically give him a lifetime contract.
Since he actually won a little ths year, I doubt we’ll get rid of him for another decade.
But if it was the Astros, a terrible manager like Wash wouldn’t last a week.
And gee, you guys are really too stupid to make the connection that liberals like affirmative action?
I just wish the Astros should be forced to suffer under a horrible manager some more, instead of keeping him forever like the Rangers.
I predicted that the Astros wouldn’t keep Cooper, and of course I was right yet again.

Wash
Got his extension picked up- that’s hardly a “lifetime contract.” Especially since he’s only signed through the end of this season.
And FWIW, both Drayton McLane and Tom Hicks are Republicans. So I guess Republicans like affirmative action too?

Nope - still don't understand
Astros fired an incompetent manager. That’s good, right? But you call then gutless, which implies they did something bad.
Maybe what you’re saying is that the Astros were gutless because they didn’t stick by him like the Rangers with Wash, which makes the Rangers the good guys and the Astros bad. But you also imply that the Rangers shouldn’t have extended Wash.
I’m going to go find an old Miles diary to reread and clear my head.

Sharky can't comment on the Rangers...
because he knows nothing about them.
Wait a minute, why doesn’t that stop him from trying to talk about the Cowboys or politics?

What a strange post
Why are the Astros gutless for firing Cooper? Why won’t they hire another minority candidate? What does Obama have to do with anything?
The Astros have been in contention a few times over last decade, so I guess there should be a double-standard between the two. But I’m still not clear as to what double standard you’re referring. I need answers.
That's why they call them business sox

Because if Bush or McCain was president
then the Astros wouldn’t have fired their manager

Ok
How much do you want to bet me the Astros wont hire another minority manager to replace Cooper?
They wont because unlike the Rangers, they like winning.
This is 100% lock. It’s inarguable. They will not do it.

Sharky, are you trying to get banned with racist horseshit like this?

And wait a minute
The Rangers should accept crappy managing because “they haven’t been in contention the last decade”, while the Astros have?

Astros are
where the Rangers were a few years ago. A bunch of ill fitting overpaid vets with no chance to win. Too bad I don’t think Drayton will let them have a youth movement, and even if they did, I doubt Ed Wade is the man to pull it off.

Yeah, the difference is that McLane would never allow a move like the Teixeira trade

Meh
I’d rather still have Teixeira than whatever loser scrubs we got for him, that helped us lose again this year.

Bobby Heck has actually done a good job with their drafts the last couple of years.

I have to admit, I hope the Astros hire Rudy Jaramillo just to see if Sharky’s head explodes or he goes into a comatose stupor.
I didn't know what a mancrush was. Derek Holland showed me.

I hope the Astros hire Rudy Jaramillo
just to not have to read articles about how the Rangers clubhouse will revolt if they let Rudy go.
