How Are the Stars Being Acquired? Starting Pitching.
The best pitchers in baseball aren’t being acquired on the free agent market. Teams looking for their ace pitcher this off-season should take note.
But we already knew this. Right?

We knew this
but the major question is do you trade 6 years of a guy who may be an ace, or may just be rotation depth, for a guy who is definitely an ace, but you get him for 1 or 2 years.
Not many guaranteed aces are available on long term deals, so the question becomes how much do you give up to rent one.
