Hadn't realized that Pudge was so close to Type A status.

I agree with you on Pudge
Best case scenario is that he’s a Type B and we get a nice, juicy supplemental pick like we used on Scheppers. I’d argue that the same is true for Byrd, but I suppose those who want him to stay would prefer a Type A ranking. We’d be looking potentially at four first rounders with those guys as Bs, though, which would be fun.

Only issue with Pudge is Id think he'd certaintly consider taking the arbitration
he’d get, or he could just as well retire.
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'

Yep...
I think Pudge would take the arbitration $ if the Rangers offered it to him.
And considering how Salty and TT looked this year, that may not be a bad thing.

At least
there is absolutely no sane reason to offer Blalock Arbitration. Seeing his option being picked up was one of the big beatings of the year.
