1st week
of games i didnt use the confidence points
by icouldusesomebaseball on Sep 29, 2009 2:07 PM CDT reply actions
I had a good week
105 points or something, but I think a lot of other people did as well. Don’t know what that means about where the lines were set.
Go Rice Owls!
well the Philly-KC line was listed as pick'em
so that was basically a 16 pt gimme.
But yeah, seemed like everyone had much higher scores this week. Might be because 11 of 16 favorites covered the spread.

KC/Philly
When Westbrook was deemed out it puckered by butthole enough to make me drop it to like a 3 confidence.
My big one was Pitt. Roethlisberger had never lost in Ohio and who would have thunk they would lose two in a row early on.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Same here
I put the philly game lower than I should with westbrook ailing and mcnabb out. Pitt is where I put most of my points.

you thought that KC could possibly go to Philly
and win the game outright?

Yes
I dont have any faith in Kolb, especially after his first start. I thought Philly was ripe for the taking by a normally far inferior team.

I am so beastly
Everyone should bow down to my confidence points greatness

dude 25-7 against the spread is outrageous
share your genius with the group. What are you reading? How are you making these picks? I seriously need to know.

5th inning against the Tigers
Smoak Some and I are in a strong tie for leaders of the non-leaders
We each are at 200 points with 93 dropped points, which are the highest dropped points.
I’m cashing in my 401k today to put it on next week’s picks. I called Wash’s gut and it tells me this is a can’t lose proposition.
Ok, fantasy football question:
One of my fantasy football philosophies is to churn the bottom of my roster with RB’s and WR’s (I have no backup QB, K, Defense, TE) in the first few weeks, then trying to trade that depth to upgrade at spots in 2 for 1 and 3 for 2 trades. Then when the byes start rolling around, I address depth, willing take a hit here or there (or plugging in a Glen Coffee if possible) for improving the team during the stretch run/playoffs.
This year I wanted to make sure I had good WR depth and ended up doing better than I expected. My team (in a QB/2RB/3WR/TE/K/DST league):
Schaub
Boldin
Roddy White
Vincent Jackson (been on fire so far this year)
Peterson
Marshawn Lynch
Owen Daniels
Gostkowski
San Diego DST
BN: Welker, Hester, Steve Smith-NYG, Ray Rice, Reggie Bush, Glen Coffee
So now that all the setup is done, I offered this trade: Ray Rice and Steve Smith for Calvin Johnson. I didn’t really think it would work, but it did. However, now I’m starting to worry about my RB depth long term (Lynch might be in a time share) and I’ve kind of liked how consistent Smith as been. Am I crazy for even doubting myself on this trade? There’s a 2 day window where people can veto it. I’m trying to figure out how to address RB2, but there’s not a ton of trade prospects. Jerome Harrison is sitting out there….
If Brad Pitt is playing Beane who do you want playing you?
JD: Eddie Guardado.
I am.
I’m concerned about LJ taking carries and their line being…ya know…awful/terrible/horrific/hide-the-small-children-bad.
