Rangers OF Josh Hamilton Has Pinched Nerve

Inside Corner's Evan Grant speaking with Thad Levine.

Looks like some meds might take care of the problem.

Link

“Josh saw the doctor today regarding his lower back and it was determined he has a pinched nerve.  He was given a ‘root nerve injection’ to reduce the inflammation. He is traveling with the club to Baltimore and athletic trainer Jamie Reed will examine him and evaluate him then. Hamilton is listed as day-to-day.”

May the healing begin.

Hamilton was given an CRACK anti-inflammatory injection to reduce the inflammation

If you really want to pour you're ten dollar concession stand beer on me, I take that as a compliment.

Flagged.

I’m tired of reading crap about Hamilton on drugs. Get over it.

I'm interested to know how that's going to happen exactly...

But I’ll try not to provoke you further.

Ol' Miles sure is mailing it in these days

That was his worst effort by far. I never really liked his rants but they used to have their moments, at least.

Watch out

Miles might challenge utlonghorn24 to a whack a mole contest at ChuckECheese or something.

don't think that was a come back

more like saying you should get over the fact that hammy did drugs and it’s a part of him. his past is part of him and endured him to thousands of fans. it’s fair game. just because he is clean (is he?) doesn’t mean we can’t joke about it. other players have pasts that fans make fun of. hammy isn’t immune.

Be that as it may...

Wouldn’t it make more sense as a fan to support the players on your team in spite of the things they’ve done wrong? Especially if they’ve made a legitimate effort to get past those things and become a better person?

And I am tired of people like Miles trolling around here and talking crap about everyone for their faults. It’s time to grow up, get out of high school, and quit dwelling on things that happened in the past, and especially making fun of those things. Kills any chance you have of others seeing you as anything remotely relating to mature.

No.

You’re an idiot for trying to fucking flag the owner of the site just to see what happens.

I don’t think anybody takes you seriously anymore.

I do the same. Nobody gives a shit about them

by oc on Sep 3, 2009 11:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I actually...

look at the blog report for most flagged comments every day now. The fact is, not all that many posts ever have more than 1 or 2. There was a poster that routinely had 15-20 per post, and he’s no longer with us.

Incidentally...

when I’m looking at a thread, posts that have been flagged a certain number of times are red (like how recc’ed posts are green). Does it do that for everyone, or just moderators?

When you flag somebody, it specifically says only the mods can see it.

Hank is 7 runs below a zombie replacement at first base. Do you realize how terrible that is? Zombie’s can’t think, they’re slow, and they’re often ejected from the game for eating opposing baserunners’ brains. - Ben quantifies Hank Blalock

Not usually.

I read the comment itself, if it’s brought to my attention with troll flags, but I don’t read the comments on the troll flags.

No long term deal.

If I am JD, I let Hamilton play next season before considering a long-term deal. No reason to rush AT ALL.

a lot of people

were wanting to resign him before the season. i was one of the ones that was against it, seeing more risk than reward. i was told that it’s better to sign him. whatever

I don't think you consider a long term deal for him until he hits FA.

There is zero upside for the Rangers in signing Hamilton to a long term deal

We’ve got plenty of arb-control left, and he’s too old, brittle, and risky for the benefits of buying out a yr. or two of his FA years to outweigh the risks.

I have had this before.

And it hurts a lot, but not all of the time. It pops up at random and inconvenient intervals when at rest. And it’s a really weird injury when not at rest. Things you’d think will hurt like hell end up not hurting, and things you wouldn’t think would bother you are killers. Very weird thing to have.

by Black Francis on Sep 3, 2009 8:13 PM CDT reply actions

I assume it is a pinched nerve from

a bulging disc. Like Francis says above, it is an off and on thing. Mine would bother me when I got fatigued. It also can cause loss of strength in which ever limb is effected.

Anyone know the success rate

for epidural injections? My doctor told me I might need a second one even though I was feeling a little better a week after the first injection. I am not confident Josh will be back this year.
