It is a two-team race.

In fact, at this point, the only real question in the A.L. is which two teams out of Boston, Texas and Anaheim will make the playoffs.

I sure hope the answer to that question is Texas and Boston.

I hate the Angels

But I wouldn’t mind seeing them make it as the Wild Card and beating the Yankees somehow. I think I like Texas’ chances against them.

Boston doesn't scare me at all...

I know Texas has played well against the Halos this year, but I’d much rather see the BoSox in the playoffs than the Halos.

They don't scare me either.

I just think think the Angels may have a better shot at beating the Yankees in the first round than TEX or BOS does.

I'd still rather see

two teams from the West than two teams from the East in the playoffs, just to give the East coast bias a slap in the face.

I'd rather

Beat the Angels in the ALCS. That would just be too sweet.

I know it’s a large assumption, but I’ll take my chances.

True

My hatred for the Red Sox, and the trash I’d hear from some friends, makes me prefer their chances of winning the World Series are at 0% in October.

I want us to win the West and the Angels to win the Wild Card

Just to show how stupid all the people who said the Wild Card was basically 100% guaranteed to come out of the AL East.

This is cool

but it sure would be nice to avoid the Yanks in the first round.

CC is pretty scary

You either have to beat him, or sweep the remaining three games. Either of those is a tall order.

He’s the playoff bound starter I’d least like to face, with Lester probably second.

Playoffs

I would actually prefer to be the wildcard, and get the Yankees in the first round. I’d rather play the better team in the 5-game series than a 7-game series.

I don't know what to term the phenomena that sometimes occurs in baseballl

like what may be happening with the White Sox.

When there is a purge of major talent from a squad, sometimes those teams go on a roll. It happened in Texas after Tex was dealt. It’s happened in Cleveland this year and I think it happened to them last year when Sabbathia was sent to Milwaukee. It happened in Philadelphia the year (2006) Abreu was traded to the MF Yankees.

These are the most recent examples but it’s something that happens from time to time in the Great Game and I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe it’s now happening in Chicago (won three straight since Thome was dealt) and it couldn’t be happening at a better time for the Rangers.

I still say 94 wins gets the Rangers into post-season.

Makes sense

Most Oklahomans have a chip on their shoulder because the rest of the country (especially Texans) look down on them and the football team makes them feel better about themselves.

Texas goes on a run and wins the West. LAA still ends up sucking less than Boston and wins the Wildcard. Then Texas gets to take revenge on Detroit for earlier in the season.

This has been the Rangers problem all year

They get so jacked up for the bigger teams then they play down to the lesser teams. That said if the Angels had taken care of business aganst us they would be running away with the West. How crazy is this if the Rangers play .500 ball the rest of the way they will win 90 games this year.

The Angels have a much tougher schedule than Boston

I think 13 of their last 16 are against teams on pace to win 90+. That does include the Rangers though. This is still doable.
