We would be allowed to have a 55 man active roster all year.
Plus only play Thurs-Monday. ALways off Tues and Wed. It’s perfect. The pen could make that work right? Although it would be difficult to find 10 starters.
Give me team chemistry and emotion over stats any day. Do you think 34,000 Ranger fans were screaming their asses off over Pudge and his .275 OBP?

i love going to DH
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'
Yeah, but I'm encouraged we managed to score 21 runs off the fucking Indians

Davis gets
shit from me because he’s always going 1 for 22, 3 for 44 or 7 for 60.
If the training wheels ever come off and he becomes a productive and consistent player I will champion him but as it is, the only reason he’s in the line-up every day now is because Jon Daniels drafted him (and it has nothing to do with performance).

With good reason.

You also forgot Ian Kinsler (who is the Heath Barkley of our family).

Just a minor slip of the tongue (keyboard, rather)
You give absolutely no shit to Chris Davis (as stated above). You give it to posters on blogs. Even then, it’s figurative not literal. So back away from the phrase “Davis gets shit from me”, unless you are sending it parcel post collect.

It certainly wasn't for the performance Davis has thrown down this year, bigsteve.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
"Ranger players, especially veterans, weren’t surprised that Daniels couldn’t find a deal"
So Blalock's performance this year has warranted him playing time?
"Fuck those guys. They got lucky. I’m going to whip their ass the next time I take the mound."
The difference offensively between he and Blalock is miniscule
And Davis is great defensively. The fact Blalock has been worse since the ASB than Davis was at the beginning of the season is another reason Davis is playing.
The fact is we have no good options at 1B this season. So between the two bad ones we do have we are choosing to go with the one whos better defensively and will be here next year and possibly for several years to come. I don’t see how hard this is to understand
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Until Josey engages in conversation about the 20-9 in May then his little 28-19 shit means nothing to me
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
In the month of May, Chris Davis hit .189 with a .238 obp
yet the Rangers went 20-9.
So how did they do it?
They had seven other players with OPS above .800 so they were able to carry his sorry ass for the month.
In June, there was one player with an OPS above .800 and they couldn’t carry him any more.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
"Ranger players, especially veterans, weren’t surprised that Daniels couldn’t find a deal"
Dude, the same exact argument you just made completely undermines the 28-19 stat you always trot out. Do you not see that?
Blalock led this team in HR & RBI from July 1
thru mid August.

No sir
your argument has been that Chris Davis was bringing “this thing” down because people in the clubhouse were pissed off he was still here sucking such a large cock at the plate. And your theory is that as soon as he went down because he was no longer here we started winning.
If he was such a drain on everyone else then we should not have been able to go 20-9 in May.
Oh and your boy Hank had the 2nd lowest OPS among regular players from July 1st – August 25th (the 28-19) stretch). Only Kinsler had a lower one. So how much exactly did he contribute to that?
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Davis went thru one of his patented 7 for 60 (with 27Ks) / 3 for 44 (with 24Ks) streaks
at the end of May and it was at that point that the team started the heavy platoon with Hank F (while Davis played every day) and it obviously wasn’t playing well in the room or in the field or in the standings.
The moment Hank F started playing every day, the June Swoon magically ended and the team went on a 28-19 streak.
Since the latest changes were made the Rangers are 9-6 which is on pace to hit the 24-15 they need to have to justify this move. Need to 15-9 to get there.
Chris Davis could make the argument moot if he’d finally start hitting.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
"Ranger players, especially veterans, weren’t surprised that Daniels couldn’t find a deal"
We went 28-19 in spite of Hank Blalock not because of him
We went 20-9 in spite of Davis not because of him.
1B has been terrible all season for us regardless who has been there. You however seem to target only 1 of the two guys we’ve primarily played there.

I don't usually reply to your dumbass...
but you got handed a big cup of shut the fuck up today.
I know you wanted the Rangers to lose so you could blame it on CD and say they are now out of This Thing. Well guess what? They didn’t.
Borbon went deep twice along with a walk and SB in the first game and CD went 3-5 with a big HR and sac-fly in the second. Not only that, but he made at least 6 or 7 digs and tags at 1st base that your boy would have botched. That’s right, defense from a 1st baseman. What a concept. Oh, and the kid you said who wasn’t ready for The Show made not one but two spectacular plays today.
So there you go JW, you’re bit is old and stale. Shut the fuck up.

Madison Bumgarner got the start today for the Giants in his ML debut because Lincecum wasn’t able to go.
He looked pretty good too.

Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Yeah...
his fastball was sitting 87-89 most of the night.
Anyone know what his velocity was usually at in the minors?

Reports before this season said he was a mid-upper 90s
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
The velocity dip started a month ago IIRC.
Seemed like he’s been tired lately, which is one of many reasons why Giants fans aren’t particularly thrilled with this move.
I think it had to start more than a month ago
His K numbers this year have dropped sharply
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Velocity had been there initially though.
The first I heard of his velocity loss was from a tweet from Goldstein at the very end of July.

I dont say this but about once or twice a year
but Josey is right on this one. Sam will never be the same again this year. Honestly, I really hate to see him go back out there because he seems to be a nice guy and has the potential to make millions in the NF of L
Please, Sam, dont go back out there behind that offensive line. Its not worth it. Let big game Boob and that sorry O-line have their 3 or 4 loss season. Its not the end of the world and after some surgery and rehab you’ll be as good as new. It just really scares me for his safety if he goes out there there against Sergio Kindle, Acho and that crew with a tight end playing center
I have agreed with Josey and said some good things about a Sooner. I feel all dirty. I’ll be in the shower for the next three hours if anyone needs me

Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.

You'd think
On 4 days rest, Aardsma could go 2 innings, hoping M’s get the lead in the 11th.

I understand B-Mac's game score wasn't good...
but I’ll take just about any game where our starter makes it into the 7th these days.
No reason whatsoever that Ichabod
should have been out there in the 7th and then going to Eddie G?

You, sir, are the most disrespectful ass on this site.
Can speak of any player by their given name? Or, do you have to give every player you dislike a derogatory nickname?

Should also point out that Carrasco had a 32
and Laffey a 10 for the Tribe.
Worst Game Score of I’ve seen this year went to the Dutch Oven (he had a 3) last week v Toronto.

I didn't have a problem with him going out there in the 7th.
But don’t bring Eddie in. Grilli or O’Day in that situation please.
I think they should just be able to say
“Put him on”
i’d like that.

i found the one with the monkey holding the sign via google images
but it said “David Ortiz”. So I erased that (poorly i might add) and added Neftali’s name
one of my friends on FB (I can't remember who)
has that as his default pic.

why thankyou
i should probably explain why the pic didn’t work.
i know it ends in jpg, but however that site is set up that link is still a website destination. right click —> properties (or whatever on your browser) on the pic to get the link to the actual image if you want to use that site to host rather than the link they give you.
although since you found or already had imageshack thats better anyway.

I've read the whole series.
It gets better as it goes. King wrote the early books when he was very young, then he left the series for a long time. When he went back, he was a better writer and it shows.
If you’ve read some of his other stuff, references and tie-ins show up a lot. Especially to The Stand.
