Not that I would have voted for him...
I think that Luis Sardinas should be added to the list.
Frankie Francisco. C.J. Wilson. Neftali Feliz. Darren O'Day. Pedro Strop.
American League Teams simply know them as "The Basterds."
Definitely agree
Well past due since we’re to #48 including the candidates. No one would prefer Jose Monegro to Luis Sardinas.

It was you, 'Fredo
I was voting Kirkman for a while, there, but I’ve gotten bored with him.

I'm wondering what the argument is for Boscan vs. Escobar
I went with Escobar. What are people’s reasons for going with Boscan over him? Both seem to have their doubters in the scouting world for various reasons while their stats make them look pretty good on paper.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Boscan's has put up slightly better numbers at a higher level than EE though
Even this past year his K rates fell off the cliff. In fact, his K/BB was still slightly better than Escobar’s last year despite that.
I’m voting Boscan both because he should’ve been on the list two polls ago, and because EE is still extremely raw.

Their K/BB rates were practically the same
with Boscan showing more control while Escobar showed more strikeout power. He was also just 17 while Boscan put up a more disappointing season in Hickory.

EE might be the better prospect, we'll see.
But Boscan’s 2008 was better than Escobar’s 2009, and we have yet to see what’ll happen to Escobar when he moves up a level for the first time himself.
Considering we’re all the way down in the mid-20’s now and theres really not going to be huge differences between a lot of these guys, I think you have to rate Boscan higher just based on seniority.

and Boscan was dominant pre-injury in 09
his season still looks good, especially if you consider he pitched in front of one of the worst defenses in baseball.
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
He had a .280 BABIP last year

that stat doesn't mean he wasn't pitching with a bad defense behind him
it may have more to do with him getting weak contact

It means he wasn't hurt by the bad defense.

which is either
a testament to his pitching and getting weak contact or he was lucky. the fact still remains that it was a bad defense behind him.

A bad defense can still get lucky and make good plays
Baseball’s a game of inches and whether or not Boscan got lucky or was responsible for that BABIP, the defense didn’t seem to hurt him much.

Cousin Vinny
Hope he can step up a level and rake.
It is a great thing to know the season for speech and the season for silence.
