you know how there is a rule where you should be wary of college guys who put up good Low A numbers
what does it say when a college guy completely sucks in low A and then tanks 2 years in a row in high A.

if Davis tanks, I don’t think handedness would matter, and, this would also be insurance for Vlad.
Thome and Delgado could still be out of the question, but if you can get 1 of the RH bats, then fine. I’d still be thrilled with either, Sheff, Gomes, Tatis, or Garko as insurance.

I think as ST approaches, these guys are going to want to be on a team and get there guaranteed paycheck, and I don’t see many starting gigs out there for these guys. Some will have to accept backup/bench roles. Why not here, where if you look at it, they could get alot of playing time if Davis sucks, or Vlad gets hurt. Even if Davis is ok, a platoon situation could arise.

I'm interested in Garko, like a lot around here
but I’m also interested in Delgado.
I know he’s a lefty, but I think he’s got a good line against LHP anyway. He’d be an adequate option to fill in at 1B and could DH if we’ve got Hamilton or Vlad on the DL.
I think he’s got to take a one-year contract to prove he can still plaayee-aa.

If Borbon pulls a CD
then you’d have Hamilton in CF everday (bad idea) and Murphy in a corner playing everyday (another bad idea). If you could get a guy like Johnson for a couple mil, that would be a nice contingency plan.
