OT: Texans lose Shanahan/NFC East future etc

So, apparentely Kyle Shanahan is head to Washington to join his Dad.

But Frank Bush remains? Yeah, not looking good Texans fans.

And the list the Texans are looking at to replace Shanny? Not looking good Cahill/AJm

Gailey at least is a known mediocre OC, probably even worse now that he must be like 80. The other two are unknowns with no playcalling experience AFAIK, so neither here nor there I guess.

Other candidates to replace Shanahan have ties to coach Gary Kubiak when he coached at Denver: Broncos offensive line coach Rick Dennison, Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave and former Kansas City offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.

As for the NFC East, they say it's unknown whether Mike or Kyle will call the plays, but either way, it's going to be a step up from the pathetic recent skins. Mike was always decent although not great in Denver. The Giants fired their DC too. Reid keeps the Eagles at a high level year after year.

The bottom line is the division just generally gets tougher. With Giants replacing their DC and having Eli, Reid and the Eagles being good, and now Washington will probably greatly improve fast. It's just brutal.

The bottom line is the mighty drafting Texans could be headed for 5-11  next year lol. Cahill destroyed.

The thing I don't understand with the Redskins is...

They hire a GM and tell him he’ll have full control… And then they hire Mike Shanahan and tell him he’ll have full control over all football decisions…

So… Um… Why hire the GM? Or why give Shanahan full control over football decisions when that was pretty clearly his undoing the last few years in Denver?

Shanahan is

completely irrelevant. Same offense with or without him.

They just need linemen and a running back.

lol

right.

Texans are done.

Say, you luck out and whoever you get for Oc is just as good as Kyle Shanahan. So what? You’ve still got Frank Bush on the other side, so you gain nothing.

That’s IF you’re lucky, and replace Shanahan with somebody just as good. Odds are that wont even happen.

You can throw Kubiak in the mix, but historically he’s an 8-8 type of playcaller anyway.

No,

OCs don’t matter. Just players and coaches.

...

Players and coaches? OC’s not a coach?

Look I dont care what you think Cahill, we all know the truth here by now. You’re not stupid.

If you’d have kept Shanny and fired Bush, that team woulda been fricken 12-4+. Easy. You have tons of “talent”.

Frank Bush means your D is doomed to be weak. Now you have an uncertainty at OC too.

I watched the games

a bad kicker, a runner who fumbled a lot, and a team that would generally only show up for one half per game had more impact than Bush or Shanahan. Both are replaceable and won’t change the team that much. Coordianators are completely interchangeable.

Uh-huh

Sure Cahill.

well then you should be pleased with Chan Gailey as your new coordinator and your 6-10 record next season.

Sharky, let me get this straight

You say this:

Look I dont care what you think Cahill,

Yet this entire fanpost appears to be devoted to picking a fight with the guy you apparently don’t care about.

Awesome.

Scared to death of Eagles game

Nah mean? Scared we’re gonna loooose.

There’s lots of reasons we should win though. One thing that gave me heart is some analyst I heard on the radio saying that if you shut down DeSean Jackson long plays, the Eagles cant do much else, they cant run the ball. And the Cowboys have Jay Ratliff etc, and the Eagles have that supposedly crappy center who cant block anybody, etc etc. I mean there’s lots of reasons on paper we can win.

sigh

Why do people like to nitpick my comments by stating the ultra-obvious?

by Sharky on Jan 6, 2010 12:33 PM CST up reply actions

Because

your entire post about the game did nothing but state the ultra-obvious. You mean the Eagles like to try and hit DeSean Jackson for big plays? The Eagles don’t run the ball well? Jay Ratliff is good? The Eagles lost their starting center and their new one is a question mark? My goodness what analysis. Why aren’t you on NFL Network Sharky?

His best one was

about they held back their plays once they got behind. They had a few plays for Vick but decided not to use them.

Uh yeah Vick was the 3rd QB for the game and was inactive so they couldn’t use him unless both McNabb and Kolb were injured

Talking football with Sharky

is like talking football with a 12 year old. Lots of enthusiasm, lots of obvious statements, nothing really earth shattering or memorable.

And

Let me guess, you think football is all about drafting, you think fundamentals and the offensive line are key, you think Jerry Jones ruins the Cowvboys by meddling. You were really upset when Marc Colombo when down because, you just dont replace offensive linemen.

In other words, you’re the average moron Texas football fan.

That’s the clip I got the Vick thing from. It’s about halfway through. I just misinterpreted what he said and didn’t know Vick was inactive.

In response to a question (that is very hard to hear) about Vick he says “I had a couple things in for (Vick) this week, but then I just decided to kinda pull back at the end”"

Not realizing Vick was inactive, and not having fully heard the question, I understandably thought he was talking about in game. Excuuuuuuuuse me.

Dude it was brought up about a dozen times in the GDT

each time we explained this to you but you wouldn’t comprehend what was going on even though based on your posting you knew we what we were talking about

Uhh

So if I state the ultra obvious, why the fuck would you restate it like it’s a criticism?

DUHHHHHHHHH

Why even respond? Especially in a criticizing manner, restating the same fucking thing I just said!

People just like to nitpick my posts, but it’s annoying when they’re too stupid to even make sense while doing it.

And how was what I stated ultra obvious?

It would be like if I responded to your response by saying the following:

“Duh, everybody know the Eagles are going to try to hit DeSean Jackson for big plays. Way to bring football insight 101 Arlington Stadium Legend”

And you would be kind of puzzled, because it wouldn’t make any friggen sense.

That’s what people do to me all the time and it’s annoying.

BTW, everybody knows Jay Ratliff is good. What, you must work for ESPN with that brilliant analysis.

by Sharky on Jan 6, 2010 11:58 PM CST up reply actions

I didn't make any analysis

I made fun of your childish analysis.

"calmer than you are dude" Walter (Big Lebowski)

by Arlington Stadium Legend on Jan 7, 2010 6:29 AM CST up reply actions

Maybe you should go work at ESPN

With your brilliant analysis such as the Eagles dont run the ball well.

by Sharky on Jan 7, 2010 7:28 AM CST up reply actions

I didn't say that

I made fun of you for saying that. Not only is your analysis childish, so is your behavior. Next you will post I know you are but what am I…
