Roll call for AT&T Park Games 1 & 2

via 28.media.tumblr.com

Who's coming to the park? I know there are a few Bay Area Angrydomers, but certainly some of you hometown heroes plan to represent correct? The wife and I are heading to games 1 & 2. Love to make a tailgate happen there or something.

Star-divide

While the team nucleus does seem strong, another trip to November baseball might not happen for another 50 years. Think about it, SRO seats are only $500 or so. That's just one month's rent, a single car payment, 10 tanks of gas that you could sacrifice. You could easily make that up by donating your blood and/or semen!

I'm trying to get to games 1 & 2

No tix yet, though.

I have seats for games 6 & 7, if they are played.

How did you get tix?

Getting Tickets for games 1 or 2 will be next to impossible

…unless you’re willing to go $500-1000 per ticket

Even if we don’t end up going to the game. All Rangers fans should meet up at one bar watch the game together.

there is no way

i can’t justify paying the stubhub prices right now. the scalper prices close to game time will be better, probably not much better, but they will be better. i guess with stubhub you guarantee yourself getting in well prior to the event, which is nice, but still, it is beyond fing ridiculous right now.

I'm thinking about it

I’m in San Diego, booked a southwest flight to SF last week for games 1 and 2 just in case (I can cancel and use the funds later if I don’t go). But I didn’t realize ticket prices would be THIS outta control…now I know haha. I was ready to pay $500 or so for a decent seat….but all the decent seats seem >$1000 right now. Not ready to fork that much over and $500 for a SRO doesn’t sound fun to me.

So we’ll see. I’m hoping they’ll drop but i doubt they’ll drop that much. When you add in airfare + hotel + seats at these prices, it’s pretty damn expensive. If i lived there it’d be a lot easier to craiglist / find scalpers the day of the game i think.

Family in dallas has tickets to game 5 though…so worst case i’ll fly in for that and try to hit up game 4 as well.

I got free ticket to game 1!

I accepted a new job at a startup on Friday. The CEO heard I was a Rangers fan and said he may have “ways” to get tickets. I just got an email from him saying he got me a ticket for Game 1. Section 308. I’ll be attending with some woman from the new company that I’ve never met (a Giants fan), but I don’t care. I’m in the gates!

Nope. Married.

Besides, she’s a Giants fan. After this series, one of us is going to have some very hard feelings towards the other team.

Yeah

I’m going to miss watching the game with the boys, but this cannot be missed. If don’t get tix to Game 2, we will need to get together to watch.

I’m hoping prices for Game 2 will be a little cheaper since Lincecum wont be pitching and many people will have blown their wads paying for Game 1 tickets.

I will not

be spending $500 for a SRO ticket but I definitely don’t mind meeting up for the games.

by Texcal1997 on Oct 24, 2010 10:40 PM CDT reply actions

Oddly enough

I’ll be visiting friends in the Bay Area during games 3 & 4. I’d love to meet up if everyone hasn’t gone to Texas. Not sure yet if that will mean trying to convince them to join ( they’re Texans who are not that into sports but are into drinking, so there may be a match) or ditching them for a few hours.

yep

i’ll be attending both games 1 & 2, section 123.

Meet in SOMA for Game 3?

Long time Rangers fan here…grew up in the Metroplex, been out in SF for about a year.

Read LSB almost daily for the last 3 to 4 years…and love the site. Thanks to Adam, GoET, and others for giving this moocher entertainment and insight for all this time. Thanks to Josey and Sharky for being douchey.

Anyway…there’s no way that I can afford these tickets in SF, but I’ve been rooting for Giants / Rangers since about July. It’ll be fun to watch these games at the bars here.

Would anyone like to designate a place for Game 3? I usually hang out in the Mission or SOMA near my work. Locals may be able to suggest a better place or I can start throwing stuff out there. In any case, it would be fun to watch the game with people that know baseball…especially RANGERS BASEBALL!

by striderchang on Oct 25, 2010 7:26 AM CDT reply actions

I'm also considering just watching the game as a bar in the SOMA/ Financial District

Gordon Biersch Brewery on Harrison St is a good location. I think every bar downtown is gonna be packed. All Rangers fans should meet up at one bar.

Same here

I live in SOMA and work in Financial District, so I can definitely do Gordon Biersch for the first game.

I'd be up for that for the 2nd game if I don't break the bank and buy a ticket

bought a plane ticket to Bay Area from Dallas for Game 7

but don’t have a game ticket yet. I’m only planning on going if there is going to be a game 7—I’m hoping the Rangers will have won by then but I’ll gladly take it whenever it happens and would love to meet up with other Rangers fans either at the game or to (hopefully) celebrate afterwards before the return flight to Dallas the next morning if that’s how it happens. I am in the market for a game 7 ticket by the way…don’t want to totally break the bank, but i understand that i will have to pay market price.

So who has tix to game 1 & 2

And who wants to take me? ;)

Seriously though, I wish I could meet everyone but there is this pesky thing called work that gets in the way…. damn you Pacific Time Zone!!! Plus none of y’all want to meet in the South Bay. :(

But I live here in the bay area, and should we not sweep, I can’t wait to meet up with folks to watch the remaining games.

I live in Santa Monica but...

I got the early flight tomorrow morning at 8:15am to SF. So I’ll be there basically all day walking around pissing off Giants fans with my new claws I cut off of a bear costume my buddy had. He’s an Angels fan so whatever.

I’m thinking about just trying to get hit by a car and exchange ticket $$$ for my not pressing charges against whatever knucklehead San Fran motorist I choose.

I’m heading up there by myself and would love to rally somewhere with some real fans. I don’t know SF that well but let’s pick a place to be!!!!

I was at Game 1

I was one of 5 rangers fans in the LF bleachers (but I was at the game alone). Most of the Giants fans were okay. A few young guys in front looked like they wanted to get kind of frisky towards the eighth but the giants fans immediately surrounding me told them to shut up and they did. Mostly I just had to not look like I was trying to hide my affiliation cause that would have just made things worse.

The Caltrain ride home was a bit of a beating. I started off in a jacket but it was 100 degrees in there so when the Rangers jersey appeared, I got jeered pretty bad. I was the only rangers fan on my particular car.

by PatrickWalz on Oct 28, 2010 2:11 PM CDT reply actions

Nothing wrong with jeering

You had to expect it when you decided to wear your colors. Only the violence bothered me.

i was there for 1 and 2

Game one was good for us because we were 4 rows behind Nolan, JD, and Chuck..plenty of police presence….I did not hide my colors at all….Actually talked to JD and Chuck, but you couldn’t get close to Nolan…Got pelted with beer on the way down to my seat during the meltdown in game 2, and some chick screamed at the top of her lungs in my ear(literally an inch from my ear) on the way down the ramps FUCK Texas repeatedly, which was very annoying. If it had been a dude, probably would have gotten really pissed…But most of the jeering was Fuck Texas, Texas Sucks, Go back to Texas, just normal stuff which was nothing…I definently won’t hesitate to jeer Giants fans in Texas, that’s for sure…I know that there was violence, saw some fans getting cuffed, and heard they pushed some Ranger fans down some stairs….
