i hear that it was caused by some incident that will breach his contract.
(Wife) "So what do you want to watch on the T.V.? UFC or porn?"
(Husband) "Hmm... well, porn, I guess."
for real?

Microfracture surgery
same type of thing Carlos Beltran and Grady Sizemore had
I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses the start of the season
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
Interesting
I didn’t have time to check which other baseball players had this – all I could think of was Amare Stoudemire.
We need more runs...
Not that I'm aware of.
Maybe you are thinking of Grady Sizemore?
"I wanted to go out there and punch Julio" - Ron Washington
Byrd had it during the offseason prior to his last season with Texas....I don't think he missed any games, could be wrong on that but I for sure know he had the surgery.

pretty sure you got this right
Byrd was limited in spring training and i’m pretty sure he wasn’t 100%ish until something like June.
not like it really limited him. he was beast-like during that season
I never understood why
Byrd had so many detractors on LSB.
"I wanted to go out there and punch Julio" - Ron Washington
He hit too high in the line up
And was misused
Cliff Lee: "Seventy or 80 percent of [Hamilton] is better than everyone else. Everyone knows his history. He’s a complete player who plays every aspect well. He’s the best player I’ve ever played with. That’s the best compliment I can give him.’’
Yup...
Byrd hitting cleanup drove me crazy.
That and the fact that he was unwillng to take a walk or even a pitch at times. Good player, wish we still had him, but could have been used better.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
I blame it on him...
…coming off the d.l. a few years ago, pinch hitting, and hitting into a DP.
And the fact there were some who thought Matt Murton was better than Byrd.

Mark DiFelice had it too
before the 2008 season. unrelatedly, he proceeded to screw up his shoulder the next season.
microfracture takes about 4-6 months to take effect
and is more of a salvage procedure than a cure. It is used when there is a section of cartilage gouged out of the knee.
we're from Texas
CJ says "Relax"
Take it away, Will....
Will?
………………………………….Will?
