It's good Tex didn't get Lee
Buster Olney said something on ESPN radio, there were a lot within the Texas organization breathing a sigh of relief they didn't get Lee.
The guy is old, injured, and there's no way he'll be even passable in years 5, 6, SEVEN of that deal.
Go get Beltre or somebody. Or a good, young pitcher for that kind of $. Or keep youngster signed later. Spending it elswhere will be much better.
I am happy Texas got dissed though. The fact is when you're a collection of mercenaries and a team who shows no loyalty to it's players, dont be surprised when they dont give a flip about you. Texas will always be second fiddle until that changes.

It goes deeper. People take out their frustrations with Josey on their real-life acquaintances, which propagates forward, and before you know it you’ve got more marriages in an easily-smashable state.

Favorite season of 24?
I like season 4, with season 7 a very close second
2010 Texas Rangers: AL Champs (winners of the only real league in the majors)
Crap
5 and 2 are the way to go
Baseball players routines: Spit, Chew, Curse, repeat.

Season 4 was awesome. Season 7 started out so freaking great, and then just tailed off at the end.
Season 2 was my favorite, and was the most consistent.

I think 7 had a lot of hardcore moments
like Tony killing the FBI Director in cold blood

but anyways.. regarding cliff lee
I think he can perform at an ace like level for 2 more years. He’ll probably be good in 3… but the kind of contract he was getting scared me. Let’s remember how we had our magical season… advances in the farm system players. Continue to do that… do wise spending moves on players that make sense age wise. We all got drunk off of the world series appearance, and Cliff was the party girl we wanted back. There’s going to be other parties, and plenty of other party girls.
See, we're trying to not give Sharky any reason to respond.
