Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Three Kings Day, St. Lucia Day, and Ramadan to my LSB Brethren!

This has grown to somewhat of a family here, and I am a softie, so...

I respect what many of you say, learn from what many of you say, refute what some of you say, but always enjoy the camaraderie hereabouts. I love you guys and gals here.

Have a safe & wonderful holidays, and always enjoy & cherish your families. Life is shorter than you surmise, so please make your choices wisely.

Peace To All!

(Not 75 words, crap)

Bleah, 550 mile roadie to see the family tomorrow. Who wants a text when I get up at 4:30?

Happy winter solstice to you, too Rodney

and to all, god bless us, every one!

When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.

When I was a kid we had a bunch of 78s like that

Our record player had 4 speeds, 78, 45, 33 1/3, and, for some reason, 16. Of course I used to play the 78s on the slowest speed endlessly.

When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.

by t ball on Dec 23, 2010 8:32 AM CST up reply actions

I have never heard of a 78.

I shit you not. Was it common? When I was a kid, my parents had an old record player with some John Denver and Beatles records and stuff; only two speeds though: 45 and 33 1/3.

by FuturePants on Dec 23, 2010 9:49 AM CST up reply actions

78 was between a 45 and 33 1/3.

We have some they are pretty old.

It goes deeper. People take out their frustrations with Josey on their real-life acquaintances, which propagates forward, and before you know it you’ve got more marriages in an easily-smashable state.

It was more common way back when

I was a kid in the 70s and they were already very old and out of date then.

When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.

The 78

was developed in the late 19th century, and were popular into the ’50s. They mostly died out by the 60s.

My parents still had 78s.

I don't give a crap if they lose

the team’s no longer even fun to watch. No Romo, Dez, possibly Lee. Terrible opposition. Impending overhaul. Lost season. The only thing left to play for is the large set of weights with draft positioning on one side and Jerry’s ego on the other.

I like watching them partly because there's no anxiety about winning or losing

I went to the saints game and while it should have been a heartbreaking loss, it really wasn’t. I liked that the team competed and the fumble was just one bad play. Who cares about the loss – doesn’t matter that much anyway.

I do agree that there are a bunch of guys that i’d like to see that aren’t there but I still like watching McCann, Ware, Hurd (short list). I’d still also like to see if the secondary has any hope. But the passing game in general is rather boring since the QB and OL will probably (hopefully) be changed completely next year.

by ab03 on Dec 22, 2010 11:24 PM CST up reply actions

Interesting

I don’t care so much whether they win or lose, but how they play the game. I was almost totally pissed at them Sunday against the Redskins, I still think of them as the Cowboys biggest rivals, because they couldn’t hold the lead and not only gave up two touchdowns but two extra point conversions. I often said watching the Rangers win this past season that they hardly ever won an easy game, but the Cowboys are brutal even when they win. I was thinking, do I want Garrett back next year (No!), but as long as Jones is the owner/GM I’m not sure it makes much difference.

Merry Christmas, etc!
