Sign Thome as DH for 2011?
If this has already been discussed, excuse me, I missed it. That said, what do you think about signing Jim Thome on a one-year deal to DH next year? His 2010 numbers were .437 wOBA and 3.6 WAR and he was cheap last year, $1.5 million. By comparison, Vlad's numbers were .360 wOBA and 2.6 WAR at $6.5 million.
I think Thome has another good year left in him. What do y'all think?

then you gotta find someone
to play against lefties
+ thome also doesnt give you any defensive flexibility
well who does?
None of the guys rumored to be the next full time DH are flexible. Konerko somewhat but appearantly he’s looking at 12mil+ over 3 years.

12.5 a year you mean
3/36-ish.

Thome can't stay healthy
that’s why he played sporadically last year. Minnesota managed him the right way.
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
I think the Rangers need a RH bat...
that they can platoon with Murphy more than signing Thome.
