I have questions for LSB freinds

You guyss here now so much about texas Rangers bawseball I think and so I wantd to ask you guys her at Lonestarebal if yhou could help me understand somethings about Texas Rangers in this year that is coming to happen next.

Nuymber one Question.   For instanse i wonder if you guys at LVB ever wonder who is really going to be the starting pitchers for texas rangers this year coming up.  I know you all like Brandon Mccarty a lot but I think thaty he isn't as good as Eric Hurley.  or tommy hunter even.   SO if they are going to give Harden a job now and then also you have to know that Scott Feldman will have a job also plus you want Colby louis to ppitch for the Rangers this year and then there are stories I have read that says that C.J. Wilson will be starter now too and that is four or vie starter pitching right there.

So what do yot do with all of those other guys like Daric HOlland and Hurley and hunter and feliz who everybody thinks is so good all the time and then you evne have Doug Mathis who is a good pitcher ofr the Rangers now and plus there is also Moscoso and soon will be coming Blake Beven who is from Dallas too.  And now that number of pitchers who are starers comes to something like nine or ten or then you couild add on Luis Mendoza or even Martin Perez who I read somewhere could be ready to pitch in TExas this year too.

Alsao i wanted to know if you guys here think that David Murphy is the greatest. but is getting screwed now by the texas because they want Julio Bo4rbon now.   Hes is just like Rusty Greer to me because they are both good at hustling real hard and making good plays in the outfield and they are both lefthanded hitters from texas who know how to play the baseball right way. not like Borbon who I read cant even throw the ball back to the infield sometimes. Plus.  WHo knhbows if he can realy hit left handes pit hers enough to be a good big leaguer now.

And then the other thing is they and I mean texas rangers made a mistake letting pudge go again becaus e he was really good for them last year whent they were alsmot trying to make the playoffs for the first time sinc e Pudge left a long time ago.   I was mad when Nolan Ryan who is one of the greatest pitchers ever and let Pudge go to Washington when anybody can tell right away that the Rangers only go to the playoffs when Pudge is for Texas Rangers.

What do you guys at Lonestar Balls think about that stuff now?

Thanks for your answers because I know you guys know what you are talking about when you talk about Texas RAngers baseball.

That's exactly who it might be

His old comments claim that he wrote on Crops on the Farm.

"You promised me, Eckstein, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I noticed that during the most trying periods of my life, there have only been one set of prints in the sand. Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?" David Eckstein replied, "Because my little legs had gotten tired, and you were carrying me." And I looked down and saw that I was still carrying David Eckstein.

Then he grounded out weakly to second.

Those were really epic days in LSB history

Finnerty started picking fights with literally everyone he could find. And then we started trying to spar with The Newberg, the hilarity went into overdrive.

Certainly he's older than that.

I feel like he’s been at every Newberg Night, asking his weird questions, every year for like a decade. His favorite move is to add “And why?” at the end of a question. “Name the best prospect at every single position in the system and why?”

Grant

Yeah, he’s probably more like 14 or 15 now- I remember him asking a question at Jamey’s book party right after Buck took over as manager, and that was a little over 7 years ago.

by Too Legit To quit on Feb 10, 2010 11:53 AM CST via mobile reply actions   0 recs

I have two little kids

so me getting to watch a movie that doesn’t involve Pixar, Barbi, Diego, or Scooby Doo is pretty rare.

The last one I watched that I thought was pretty good was Body of Lies (DiCaprio spy flick).

by bdavison94 on Feb 10, 2010 12:24 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Body of Lies

I read the book first — then saw the movie. That movie flat out sucked. I was surprised given it was Tony Scott/Crowe/DiCaprio.

I have a movie package but was thinking of switching to Netflix. Save some money and actually choose the movies I want to watch versus watching whatever the hell’s on. Any suggestions regarding package levels and does anyone have the internet movie watching thingamajig?

You have an Xbox?

I do, and the basic Netflix package for $9.99/month is a great deal. With that, you also get unlimited streaming, which can go to your PC, but since I have the Xbox hooked up to the HDTV, it works great. Only problem is the library for streaming is piss poor.

I cancelled my landline internet and went to an aircard. I wonder if you can plug the aircard into a USB port to get the thingamajig to work? Can’t imagine why not.

Hard to say whether I watch a "lot" of movies

Mostly, I’ll just get home from work, check to see if anything’s good on HBO, etc., and just watch whatever looks OK. I end up watching a lot of shitty movies that way. Last night I watched “Cabin Fever” which was about college graduates who go camping and fall victim to a flesh eating virus. Terrible.

Do you still have movie channels like HBO or has Netflix replaced that for you?

Depends on if you have a blu-ray player with wifi or an ethernet port

If you do, then you’re golden. During the snowpocalypse up here, the wife and I have been catching up on Lost and a few others.

And don’t listen to futurepants, the selection is far from piss poor (futurepants is often on the wrong side of an opinion), unless you are one of those guys who thinks anything made before 1998 is an old movie, and you HATE old movies, along with them that’s made by furriners and such.

If you are one of “those”, I sneer at you haughtily.

I’d say 3 movies a month is fine for your plan. And Netflix beats Blockbuster’s ass. It beats that ass like too bigot to quit beats his meat. Watching buttsex.

What's wrong with Blockbuster?

I switched when Netflix decided to start charging even more extra fees for Blu-Rays and I’ve been really happy with it.

I’ve found their net returns service to be not quite as good as Netflix (sometimes doesn’t turn around same day, and some titles seem to be perpetually stuck in “Long Wait” mode), but the in-store exchange option more than makes up for that, imo. The ability to exchange a title whenever I want is such a huge plus, and the stores always have the new releases in. Plus fuck Netflix for raising the price of the deal I was on three times in 9 months. Fuck them in their fucking orphan loving ear holes.

BB changed my plan

When I signed up they promised they wouldn’t increase our rate, which they didn’t. For a while, it was great. I was paying $14.99 a month for 2 at a time and unlimited in-store exchanges. If you sign up for that now it’s ~$8-10 a month more. BB must have realized that, because they changed my plan. They flagged me as a “high volume user,” which meant that they would purposefully delay sending me DVD’s through the mail, and they started limiting our in-store exchanges. Used to be you could turn a movie in to the store and they would mail the next one right away, but now they wait until you turn your exchange in, basically nullifying the advantage. I bit the bullet for a while b/c of the price difference, but when Netflix teamed up with Xbox it was over. Screw Blockbuster.

Stop rec'ing this thing

It’s not entertaining even from a “so bad it’s good” kind of way.

I remember

when the LSB community was funny and witty. I enjoyed scanning through the posts and reading funny, sarcastic, and intelligent content. The past couple of weeks have provided none of the above. Between all the butt sex talk and lame ass attempts at jokes like these, April 5th can’t get here any quicker.

You've been on this site 3 months and you're givin us "back in the good ol days" complaints?

You miss the sarcasm, do you? That’s good, because your opinion matters. So much.

Like, heaps and heaps. Really.

Try this one on for size: Before you go all achy-vag about the quality of funny, maybe contribute a scintilla or 2 of worthwhile content yourself.

I actually began coming to this site

right after the Soriano trade in December of 05. I would assume that I’ve been on longer than you have, but whatever. I never really got motivated to post because I’m around a computer little throughout the day and don’t have the web on my phone. More importantly I’m not that funny and don’t have that much to contribute. So I don’t. Your right I might be bitching for no reason. I’m ready for pitchers and catchers to report so there is something to talk about. With that said I would still argue the level of doucheness seems abnormally high lately.

After going back and reading the epic Minors 4/29 thread linked above where Finnerty and Spellman tried to pick a fight with everyone, I had to go find Spellman's Top 10 and re-read just for grins

This was just too awesome.

You might be on to something, Jon

That would explain the move a lot better.

That's got to go down as the most epic first fanpost ever

Many first fanposts turn out to be lame attempts at humor or rehashing tired Rangers topics. Very few first fanposts start out as a semi-creepy ode to the blog owner and then morph into 500+ comments on homosexuality, bigotry, the War Between the States, and degenerate into all-out war between groups of posters.

And to make that fanpost more ridiculously crazy, Josey wasn’t even responsible for any of it.

That last part you wrote...

Was truely amazing. I’m so proud that we as blog members can carry on ridiculous, idiotic, and douchy comments without Josey.

Everyone, give yourselves a hand.
