Erik Bedard back to Seattle?
This is bad news. If Bedard can be healthy around playoff time, that is one of the better 1-2-3 staffs in baseball.

That's not all
Apparently, they’re still in contact with Jarrod Washburn as well. Hernandez, Lee, Bedard, Washburn as 4 of 5… ugh.
Bedard...
probably won’t pitch until near the All Star break. The injury he is coming back from is a torn labrum, as well, so there’s no guarantee that he’ll even be effective once he starts pitching again.

And
Washburn is pretty mediocre.
Although just about any flyball pitcher can be transformed into Cy Young pitching in the vast wastelands of Safeco.

still...
I don’t see how the Rangers get their OBP up between 38 games with Oakland and Seattle… Not to mention Weaver and Kazmir.
I'd rather be going 'forward'
like with our young guys, than trying to resurrect a bunch of broken down has beens
are high upside bridges towards a pretty good
pipeline of talent in the minors.

Rangers definately have a brighter future given their system. That being said
I don’t see the M’s building their organization around resurrections and broken down has beens.
The guys that fit that description are all on cheap one year contracts.
The issue isn't as much that we didn't sign him
I’d just love that guy to pitch in the nl

Bedard signed with M's today
1.5M this season. 8M mutual option for 2011.
