RPiA in Surprise - Day 2
They haven't kicked us out yet - so we'll do another show today from the Rangers spring training facility in Surprise, AZ. You can watch all the fun here:

Worked last night to take care of the bugs that affected us yesterday. I hope I got everything cleared up.
Tune in - and use the chat session to ask questions. I do glance over there from time to time during the show, and if we have time, I'll ask the.

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

I have a yahoo
throw away account I use for things like this. You don’t even have to wait for a message in your inbox. It automatically registers you so the hassle is relatively minimal. Pick a fake birthday, zip code, and name and you’re all set.
Grant is kind of awesome
I always think he’s just a kid playing along but then he brings an opinion that I never thought of.
He was also the first to predict that R.A. Dickey would end up in the rotation that one year
""It was a ball, dude," Davis said. "I don’t swing at balls anymore." -CD
Was that the April where Dickey set the HRs allowed record?
In his first start and only appearance with the big club all season?

You know...
I really don’t care what Grant Schiller thinks.
I’m sure he’s a nice kid and such, but really.. what is it with the entire Rangers community kissing this kid’s ass? Seriously.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s living my childhood dream. I’m just tired of seeing him everywhere.

seeing him everywhere?
and the simple answer is, he’s smarter than you and a lot of other posters on here – which is why I care what he thinks.
And, like I said above, he usually offers a different perspective that has helped in the past in forecasting Rangers moves.

"he’s smarter than you and a lot of other posters on here"
Who else do you think he’s “smarter” than, and why?
and why?
and why?
and why?
What I respect about Grant
And I meant to mention this on the show – is that most people talk about what they want to do – and he’s actually doing it. Takes a lot of guts. Agree with him or not, THIS is his school, and he’ll be so much better for it once the time comes to make a career out of it.

The only thing about "make a career out of it" stuff
is that he is just a kid and there’s no reason to push him in the direction. Let him do it now because he wants to but no need to turn it into his future job. You start doing that and he’ll end up getting burnt out by the time he hits college.

Enjoyed the podcast...almost all Ranger news is good news. Give Grant a break and indulge, he's what 12-13 years old? I will say I profoundly disagree
with Jamey about Chris Davis being good when he came back. He was better than he had been in the first half but in no way could he be considered “good.”
From August 25-September 20, Davis went 22 for 94 (.234) with 4 walks and a sac fly giving him a .263 OBP. That flat out sucks from your 1B. Give him credit for doing well after that but until he starts taking a lot more walks, my jury is out on him.
Was JD really running around that place in shorts?
Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next one.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
"Ranger players, especially veterans, weren’t surprised that Daniels couldn’t find a deal"
"The Influence continues." Josey Wales (1/18/10)
He had just finished a work-out
And poked his head out the door and waved hello to us.
