Spring Training Tix, Etc.
Heading down to Surprise, AZ this Thursday-Saturday. I haven't bought tickets to games yet, still planning exactly what teams I want to see. Anybody think waiting until I am there to buy tickets will be a big problem?
Any suggestions on other stadiums/teams to check out while there?
Any suggestions on places to eat or bars to check out? Or just things in general to do around Surprise/Phoenix?
This is my first spring training trip, look forward to your suggestions.

I'm currently in Arizona right now.
Just got done watching the game in Mesa (stay away!).
I also watched Yesterday’s game and Sunday’s game in Suprise. The first game we had 4th row seats behind the Rangers dugout, which are $23 a piece, and depending on how many people you have, I would print your tickets, or have them waiting for you at will call. If you just want lawn seats, just get them at the ticket office so you can avoid the convienience fee. Parking is free in Surprise.
I also went to Saturday’s game in Goodyear, which is host to the Reds and Indians. The stadium was nice, but rather small. Tickets are about the same as in Surprise, but they have a $5 parking fee.
I think I might head to Peoria tomorrow and catch the game. If I do, I’ll let you know what the Mariners complex is like.
Just stay away from the Cubs complex in Mesa. It’s terrible.

I'm obscenely jealous of you.

If you just want to check out another site
My (non-Rangers) favorite place to see a game was in Scottsdale to see the Giants. Very good atmosphere in and around the stadium, and there was a great barbeque stand in the outfield.

so i went to peoria today
Access to the ballpark is easy and the stadium is very nice. I sat on the berm, once again. The only problem with that was the fence sorta blocks your view if you don’t situate yourself nicely.
Parking is $5 (again, not a big deal but I give huge props to Surprise for having free parking).
Like I said, the Stadium is very nice, but still a little small though the bleacher seats add a little more sitting room. Not as nice as the one in Surprise, but definitely the second best I’ve been to (Surprise, Goodyear, Peoria, Mesa).
Ticket price is around the same as Surprise, the Berm is $1 cheaper at $6 rather than $7. Lines at the box office moved swiftly, despite there being a large crowd at the game.
