I ended up picking differently in every other league.
Half of them I went with KSU, half of them BYU.
I'm sticking with Minnesota. I don't know why.
My last minute change was having Notre Dame knocking off Baylor and making it to the Elite 8
Notre Dame could beat Baylor
if they get past Old Dominion first.

For me it was the 6-11 dilemmas for weak 3's
I think the winner of Minnesota-Xavier beats Pitt.
I think the winner of Marquette-Washington beats UNM.

It is not a good idea to traffic in absolutes this time of year. If you insist on it, do so on a situation that is less likely to occur, like Duke winning the national title, or Purdue going to the Final Four. You are more likely to look like a genius that way.

Picking ODU was very, very tempting.
Over the course of the season they may have been the better team. They’re just not the ones playing better right now.

When I first went through and did nothing but pick who I felt was the better team before looking at other details, I had every 11 seed winning.
I didn’t want more than two 11s winning, though. The first I changed was ND for the reasons listed above. The second was SDSU for playing on the east coast. Neither should be favored by much more than 50/50 in a neutral setting at their best, anyway.

My upsets are ODU, St. Mary's, UTEP, and Cornell.
Cornell is the only one I feel like is a stretch.

Yep, there's so much luck involved that even someone who knows the most can easily lose to someone who guesses.
I believe Pomeroy has Kansas at like 23% chance of winning, and that’s the most. So the best team still won’t win even 1/4th of the time this tournament is played. And so many games, especially in the later rounds, are essentially coin flips.
I don't think that's what Pomeroy is doing with that percentage.
The 23% is a function of predicting each game in an individual tourney, not necessarily the entire tourney itself.
If you played the tourney 10 times, I bet Kansas would win 7 of those times.

It's how he states it himself, though.
That Kansas has a 23% chance (25%-35% in his own words). That’s what a 23% chance is telling you: 23 times out of 100, this team would win 6 games.
And I don’t think Kansas is 7/10 strong at all. They’re great but not nearly that dominant.

If you have to pick somebody, of course it’s going to be the Jayhawks because Kansas is the most likely team to win the whole thing. But any reasonable estimate out there has their chances at 25-35%, which is far from the certainty implied by the experts. And that means there’s a 65-75% chance somebody else will win it all. So it truly would be a surprise if the Jayhawks won the title.

And I've watched the game.
Baylor is settling for more jump shots, which gives SHSU less chance to foul, but even when they do take it inside, they’re not getting the same calls.
Now I have no idea why refs might favor SHSU over Baylor.

Heh. My high school’s band spent their whole year saving up money and fundraising for their out of state trip to Disney World. Only do it about once every 4 years. Turns out they went during the Gay Day. Most students at my school were quite homophobic, so they were not pleased at all to see their whole year’s saving for a trip across 5 states ends with them seeing screaming baptists and rainbow touting homosexuals.

We don’t have a gay day. Some gay organization(s?) organize huge meetings at Disney and there’s no reason to do anything about that. We also don’t do anything to recognize it (though cast members are told to expect it).
The idea that it’s a Disney-run thing is among the more common myths I hear.
I felt really bad for this one girl who all day had been forced to ride by herself.
Because her mom and her really, really bitchy girlfriend wanted to ride just the two of them on every ride.
That’s not really weird because of gay/straight, they just happened to be a really weird/unpleasant couple who were both the same gender.
