An obvious move imo. I don’t know what those who wanted him to start in the bigs right away were thinking. This is clearly the right move. I’ll bet he’s up by the ASB.

They were probably thinking it would be fun.
Which it would be.
But, it doesn’t make any sense for the Nationals. Even if he’s the best pitcher in their organization, him being their opening day isn’t going to put them in the playoffs, so there’s no point whatsoever in pushing him.
He's definitely one of the guys
that you do whatever you can to make sure you have control of him for as long as possible. I’m not sure if the arbitration matters with his current contract, but he’ll definitely be in the minors for at least the first month of the season.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
