Cliff Lee sidelined with abdominal strain

Seattle may not see much of Cliff Lee in April.  Already having been issued a five day suspension for head-hunting, Lee is in danger of starting the season on the disabed list because of a right abdominal strain.  He was sent to Seattle and was treated with a PRP regimen, and will be re-evaluated in seven days.

Jeff Sullivan at Lookout Landing checks out Lee's injury history, and notes that Lee has missed a fair amount of time twice previous because of abdominal strains.  Between this and the suspension (I think he'll have to serve the suspension once he's activated from the d.l.), he could be out for all of April.

If that's his first start back

from a DL trip and a suspension, I could think of worse pitchers to have to face that day than Cliff Lee.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

I see 3:05 CT everywhere else, must have been a typo… You Dallas people, is the game showing as a 3 or 2 start on TXA 21?

Was watching the Tigers and Phillies

on MLB Network. The Phillies guys were having heart attacks watching Halladay try and beat out an infield grounder…

Why wouldn't they put him on the DL after serving?

good point

or they could activate him from the dl the day after his last rehab start – there are 4 days there that he would be resting anyway. Guess it depends on when they prefer to roll with a 24 man roster.
