Chris Ray to be in the bullpen, last spot down to three
Per Evan Grant, Chris Ray has also made the Rangers' bullpen for Opening Day, and the last spot in the bullpen is down to Guillermo Moscoso, Willie Eyre, and Doug Mathis.
Mathis and Moscoso are on the 40 man roster, which would seem to give them an edge, but Luis Mendoza is going to be dropped from the 40 man roster any day now (and may be on waivers as we speak), so finding a 40 man roster spot for Eyre if he makes the club should be a non-issue.

Mathis then Moscoso
I like Moscoso, but Mathis has shown too much over last year and on into this Spring training to not be given a chance. I like having both Mathis and Nippert in the pen, both of those guys are some what quality and have the arms to pitch alot.
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'
Eyre's line yesterday in an A-ball game
3.0 IP, 5 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K’s, 2 HR’s, 47 pitches
Mathis is scheduled to pitch in a AAA game today with Salty catching.
Eyre/Mathis/Moscoso?
Why wasn’t Bmac given a chance in the bullpen again?

Bmac sucks.

Ray
Looked solid in the game yesterday. His slider doesn’t look great, but his fastball looked harder and heavier.
I'd really, really love to see what Moscoso could do as a dedicated one-inning guy
I think there’s some reservations about him pitching back-to-back days, but I wonder what the movement on that fastball could do as a 7th inning guy.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
I'm wondering whether they'll start Moscoso @OKC
or do you what you said – make him a max effort back-of-the-bullpen guy there instead to see how successful he is at shutting things down.

Brilliant. And I don't like Manny, but brilliant.

Mathis has to get the last spot
I haven’t really kept up with his ST too much, but he seems to have had a good one to go along with what he’s done coming out of the bullpen in the past. He’s got a 1.86 ERA in 38.2 relief innings to go along with letting only 2 out of his 8 inherited runners score, has kept hitters to a .596 OPS against, and has a 3.00 K/BB ratio. He might not really be overpowering anyone, but he locates his pitches well and has solid stuff to go along with it.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Rangers trade for infielder from Cubs
This time they get Andres Blanco from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later. He played 40 games at second base and 15 at shortstop. He’s been slowed this spring by a knee injury. He hit .252 in 123 at-bats last year.

odd to me
to see negative UZRs at 2B put positive ones at SS.

No kinda about it
that’s 50ish games at each, pretty small for UZR.

Why the fuck would this team want Willie Eyre in their bullpen?
We seem to have an unhealthy fascination with this guy…

he won't make the team
Moscoso has had a better ST and Mathis was pretty good in his role last year.
Vladimir Guererro - 2010 AL MVP
C.J. Wilson - 2010 AL Cy Young
I dunno man
Wouldn’t be the first time Willie Eyre has been put on or kept on the 40 against all reason and logic.
In fact, I’m not so sure that Willie Eyre and Joaquin Arias aren’t the gay lovers of Nolan and JD, and Ron Washington has the pictures of them having a foursome.
Seems like the most reasonable explanation to the trio’s continued presence on and around our team, at least.

Don't know if this has been posted yet
But TR insinuates Mathis has made the bullpen and that Eyre would get O’Day’s spot if O’Day isn’t ready to go next week.
