BA and BP each with some prospect ranking stuff
A couple of interesting prospect ranking-type things out there today...
BA had a 30 round draft, which each of the 11 editorial members of BA participating, in an effort to give each of them a chance to try to build the best possible farm system (or group of 30 prospects, anyway).
Texas did not have the most players picked -- Boston had 16 players picked, and the Rangers, with 12, were behind 8 teams (including Boston) -- but Neftali Feliz, Martin Perez and Justin Smoak all went in the top 20.
Every team had at least 8 prospects picked, except for Houston, which only had four.
Kevin Goldstein, meanwhile, has his top 101 prospect list up. 4 Rangers make the cut, with three in the top 20.

I find that draft interesting.
The reason our system gets so much attention is because of the depth, not the high-end talent. I would think the number of Rangers would be much higher given that.
Might it be because our depth is primarily at pitcher, and a draft is probably going to get more diversity of positions?
I wouldn't read too much into it.
Lots and lots of personal preference, especially when you get near the end.

Dirkatron, you’ll be happy to know I’m seeing your mancrush (Reggie Williams) from the draft last year on Sunday. Plays for Middle Georgia JC now.
Sweet. I assume you'll let us know via your interwebs blog site how it goes?
Did we ever get any idea of what he and the other non-signs (Blash, Lemke, etc…) were asking for?

Make sure to note any instances of dreaminess.

I'll write him a love letter for you.
That will be the 4th game in my string of 11 games in 9 days of draft prospecting starting Friday.
Feliz @ 3
Pretty much has to be if you think he’s a starter, right? I mean, I think most prospect people would agree if there wasn’t a question about his future roll they would only have Strasburg and Heyward ahead of him. Am I off base?
I think you are spot on with that.
In the interest of quicker games Ron should just tell the ump he's pulling the Feliz card and the ump should rule the inning over.--Sherman McCoy on Sept. 4, 2009
I think you are on point with that

Meh
90-91ish is good enough if you walk no one and surrender few home runs.
Get that “filthiest slider ever” back C-Wun!

the problem is that I hardly saw him hit 90-91 most games he seemed to be working in the upper 80s and gave up a lot of hard hit balls. If he can tick that up to 91 and bring back the slider he’ll get more k’s.
Going to be an interesting season for Beavan that’s for sure.

Our system
Is incredible from 1-4, but sorta average-ish from 5-10. From 11-30, though, we’re probably as strong as anyone.
