PrintOKC is going right now with Guillermo Moscoso continuing his recent trend of bland mediocrity. Get it together Guillermo. Salty is rehabbing and Justin Smoak is 2-3 with 2 2Bs.
Frisco is off today.
Bakersfield makes up for another delayed game last night with a double header today. Michael Main takes the mound at 3 to hopefully pitch like he did in his first start while Carlos Pimentel takes the second half of the double header against the Modesto nuts.
Hickory already won their game 3-2 behind a solid effort by Matt Thompson (5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 R, 1 BB, 4K) and the bullpen.

Braden Tullis
It’s a little tough to gain a ton of insight on a starting pitching prospect when he’s pitching in short stints, but Tullis is starting to pitch enough to where we can at least get a sense of what he’s doing with full season hitters. Through today: 8 IP, 9 H, 1 HR, 2 BB, 5 K, 2.8 GO/AO
Real quick take
better prospect: Braden Tullis or Robbie Erlin.

tough choice at this point
My gut tells me that Erlin has a higher ceiling, but Tullis hasn’t been a pitcher all that long comparatively so I’m not sure we can know his ceiling yet.

I have a strong Tullis bias, I'll admit
My faves in the system the last couple years have been Moreland, Tullis, and Bleier, in that order, so I probably overestimate them a bit.

I am torn whether I think
Salty or TT should get sent down when Salty gets activated from the DL. Right now, Treanor should be getting at least half the starts and with the state of the Rangers’ catching situation, they cannot afford to expose Treanor to waivers.

Despite having the body of a 40 year old, as was reported during his minor league career, Heard was a high schooler, and actually had a pretty good ceiling, iirc.
He was rumored to be in the mix for #1, actually.
There were huge questions about the bat (always a TERRIBLE sign) and the work ethic (for a catcher this is yet another death knell), but his defense was supposed to be other worldly or some shit, and he apparently had good tools or whatever.
But, yah.
