He is pitching in Buffalo vs the Durham Bulls, and he's perfect through 8. He's got International League hitting leader, and too cool for the minor leagues Hank Blalock out 3 times. Hopefully this will jinx him.
This 75 word minimum thing is for the birds! How am I possibly going to fill this space? Oh, Juaquin Benoit pitches for the Bulls, maybe he'll make it into the game, too. Fun stuff.

Never mind. The first guy he faced got a hit. He retired 27 straight though. It’s a good thing I don’t mind making a fool of myself.
I saw Nolan Ryan do that once
It was again Seattle—either in 1991 or possibly 1989. Harold Reynolds led off with a hit; then Ryan was perfect the rest of the way.

that is having trouble making sense of this?
He was perfect through 8, but he gave up a hit to the first batter he faced in the 9th. So then how did he retire 27 straight?
