I always thought that GIF was pretty fucking creative, myself.

I mean, most people aren’t morbid enough to think of merging those two events. Which is what makes it kind of awesome.

I can see why people would think it bad form, and perhaps it is bad form if you really wanted to get down to it, but that’s also what makes it funny.

I could really do without chatspeak. The rule is listed on their front page, so it’s not like you weren’t warned. In fact, I think they’re ahead of their time in banning it. But that’s not the best part. The best aspect of LL (actually second behind the level of humor & creativity) is that if you say +1, you will get warned, then banned. I could only dream of that here.

“Chatspeak”… Do me a favor, tell me what separates auto-loading comment-sections and a chatroom. If I had said “hahahaha” would that have been any different? I'm with you on this.

The lack of chatspeak in any comments prevents people from posting extremely short, content-free comments that should end up as recs.

My sense of humor is usually directly in line with theirs, but I will say that gif just struck me as in poor taste. I understand that some people find that funny, though (not necessarily the deaths themselves, but marginalizing terrible events as a coping mechanism or whatever).

That whole clan of bloggers have some great writing skills. They just pair that with mixed-up priorities and a need to control the thinking of their readers.
