If Smoak started getting lucky

it would do wonderful things for this teams offense. At least I’m fairly confident in our 1b production for the next 5 or so years.

my better is better than your better.

The problem I see

is that it appears to be getting in his head and he is changing his approach at the plate. They may have to send him down at the ASB if he doesn’t getting going by then. I have no idea who you put at 1B then, though.

I was involved in this argument with some friends yesterday

And there’s no question Smoak’s been unlucky, but take a look at his infield flyball rate. It’s a ridiculous 26.5% and explains in part why his BABIP is so low.

Yeah...

I hate all the pop ups becasue they are basically automatic outs. He also seems to pressing now because of the lack of results so far. Let’s hope he starts hitting soon.

Popups

correlate somewhat with power. I think as he adjusts some of those popups turn into gap doubles and HRs. Even a small number doing so would greatly help his stat line.

Smoak is a bum

He won’t be any good until he learns how to not hit the ball at people or hit everything over the fence.

Thank you Houston for drafting Jason Castro.

Man no joke.

I don’t care what stats you produce, there’s no excuse for a sub .200 BA in the majors. The kid could use a little more AAA seasoning.

Lowest common denominator

It makes me sad to hate on my P1 brothers, but the general degree of baseball intelligence among our ranks is minimal.
