Happy birthday, Robinson Cancel

Happy birthday to Robinson Cancel, who turns 34 today.

Cancel is a catcher who played 15 games with the Brewers in 1999, 27 games with the Mets in 2008, and 1 game with the Mets in 2009.

I remember him, however, because of this game, game 2 of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium in 2008 between the Rangers and Mets, in which he had a bases-loaded, two out single in the 6th to drive in the game winning run in a 4-2 Mets win.  And I remember thinking, how does Robinson Cancel end up beating you?

Also, in game 1 of the doubleheader, the Rangers had an 8-2 8th inning lead, and then let 11 of the next 15 batters get on (with Frank Francisco, Eddie Guardado and C.J. Wilson pitching), but escaped with an 8-7 win because of a double play in both the 8th and the 9th, including Milton Bradley gunning down Brian Schneider at home with the bases loaded in the 8th on a flyout by Jose Reyes

That was a gut-wrenching game.
