Pitching Improves while hitting slips...
Oh Where has the Rangers bats gone?
I remember when the Rangers could really pound opossing pitching but the pitchers would lose it or keep the game close. Now that the pitching is descent, why the hell can't we hit? Can't the Baseball development guys have both hitting and pitching in hand? So far this year, when the bats do cause some damage, the pitching falters, when the pitching is good, the bats go quiet. Go figure.

Well
When you focus your energies on acquiring pitching and good defensive players, you’re less like to have guys who can hit, as well.
Yep
you can really see it in our minors. We are deep in pitching, and our position players are pretty scary. I know it’s one of the reasons I always thought Smoak was untouchable, because he brought a dimension that is missing at the MLB level and on the farm.

I guess
that’s where trades and free agents come in. Rangers will hopefully pick up 2 bats or more before the trade deadline. Then they will be set. I hope.

2 bats or more?
Where are you going to play them?

well, maybe 2, Catcher & a Utility power bat for 3rd,1st & OF/DH, so when players get a day off, he can step in and pound the ball and play 2-3 times per week
