Here's Elias early rankings.
Vladdy seems to be a sure type A. With the way he's playing and hopefully he continues all year, do we offer him arb.? I think it's a risk worth taking. If he accepts, I think we can depend on him putting up good numbers. I think with the year he's having, he might be looking for one more multiple year contract. It would be really nice to get a 1st & supp. pick for him.
Rich Harden is a Type B but I think their's no chance in hell we'll offer him arb.
D. Oliver looks to be a sure Type A. He's another that I would offer arb. and hopefully he signs some where else on a multi year deal.
F. Francisco is a Type B but is borderline close to Type A status. I would offer arb. and hoped he signed elsewhere.
With the position we're in, I just can't see us trading any of our eligible players since we need them to try to make the playoffs. It would be a PR nightmare if we traded them for prospects. So after we win the World Series, it looks like we could possibly have three type A's that we offer arb. and them rejecting and signing elsewhere.
It would be a nice way for Greenberg to show fans how committed he is if he opens up his wallet with the 4 1st round picks and 3 Supp. picks (that's if those teams don't sign better Type A's).
What do you guys think?
