Happy birthday, Jason Romano
Happy birthday to Jason Romano, who turns 31 today.
Romano was a supplemental first round pick of the Rangers in the 1997 draft, and after a terrific age 20 season in high-A, he was a pretty well regarded prospect, checking in at #68 on BA's 2000 top 100 prospect list.
However, he never really built on that season, and ended up getting dealt in 2002, along with Gabe Kapler, for Todd Hollandsworth and Dennys Reyes.
Romano bounced back and forth between the majors and minors from 2002 through 2005 as a utility guy, and apparently retired from baseball after the 2007 season.

Cheers to you Jason Romano
You were an Angel killer in your time with us. We’ll always remember your role (2-5, 2b, rbi) in the epic 9-8 win June 6th, 2002, raising your batting average to a Ranger career high .212.
For that, you may always hold a special place in some of our hearts.

Am I reading that wrong?
Gabe Kapler left the Rangers in 2002?

But his memory lives on forever

What's your question?

Just doesn't seem like he left 8 years ago....
the question wasn’t really directed towards you I guess.

I'm disturbed
by the images on Google image search that come up when you search Gabe Kapler. I really could’ve gone without seeing him in a leopard print banana hammock…The first pic is especially hard to look at.
I love his cheese.

I'm not a very big fan of his brother,

No he doesn't!
Max got to pinch hit for Vlad in the 8th inning when the Rangers were up by 10.

There were reports
a month or more ago about Feldman not being happy with Max behind the plate, and I remember seeing Feldman yell at Max during one start early on.

Has anyone heard anything about Salty lately?
Maybe this has been talked about recently and I missed it.

The #Rangers still won’t skip starters, meaning Tuesday it could be Nippert or Harrison

After pulling Nippert after 3 innings while winning by 8 runs...
I sure hope we let Harrison pitch.

I can't wait to see this pic:
The Elvis Andrus highlights are gone. Jon Daniels is now sporting them after losing bet to Andrus

Why wouldn't Harrison get the start
Nippert’s had his chance and has still had horrible control issues.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
