The fashion world scours rural Latin America too.  This clip from the NY Times is about a guy who recruits models.  Kind of interesting.  I'm surprised he's never had an irate father break his legs due to misunderstanding (although the effeminate demeanor and pink Scion probably defuses that kind of thing right out of the gate).
