AJM calls it, kind of

“Garko is the guy who seems to make the most sense, at this point. You could probably get him for someone like Poveda and, say, a Brennan Garr or Evan Reed. That’s a reasonable price.”
Are you Bat_Mahon?
That’s what I remember.

Can we expect "Jorge Cantu! Jorge Cantu! Jorge Cantu!" from you?

No.
Because Jorge Cantu isn’t Cliff Lee.

Reed and Poveda
Not sure either would have made the 40-man roster this fall.
Poveda may have been waived off the roster, and Reed could have been a Rule 5 casualty.
yup, really a perfect move for us
cant have asked for a better, simple, easy trade
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'

So did the Rangers not think the Cantu deal would get done?
If they knew the deal was going to get done, then bringing up Moreland seems strange unless they’ve completely given up on Davis. Or is there possibly another trade coming?
Moreland
I wonder if they’ve offically made the call-up.
They will also need another spot on the 40-man roster for Cantu, as well.

I think Davis may be headed out again.

I was quite surprised by that
Wallace could be their 1B next year.

yup, when you begin to look at the 40 this offseason
this deal makes huge sense for us as we have saved ourselves two forty slots on marginal prospects (at least for us with so many young arms)… Cantu also offers some versatility and a legit RH bat against LHP which is pretty valueable come playoff time.
