Grant: Guzman deal official, Arias to the disabled list

Has Joaquin Arias or Nick Johnson spent more time on the disabled list this year? (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Per Evan Grant, the Cristian Guzman deal is official now, and the Rangers have put Joaquin Arias on the disabled list to make room on the 25 man roster for Guzman.

See you on 9/1, Joaquin...

UPDATE -- In another expected roster move, Doug Mathis has been optioned to make room for Rich Harden, who has been activated for the disabled list.

Didn’t know he was injured. Seemed fine the last time he played. Off the field injury?

Sweet, another fake injury.

Heh.

Somebody “accidentally” hit him in the knee cap while taking some warm-up swings to get loose before batting practice.

haha, well played

Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'

Actually an injury did take place.

Ron’s heart was broke when he realized he would lose Arias for 15 days.

by casew on Jul 31, 2010 5:50 PM CDT up reply actions

i know, another team has to start calling us out at some point, right?

or the MLBPA? This is pretty blatant, but hey, I guess most other teams in the majors do it too.

Yes...

and thus, once Ian Kinsler returns, the Rangers might have their best 25 man roster ever.

Not to mention that leaves Feldman without a job.

And we know that’s not happening.

Rangers luck:

Harden is back to form, but he’s also back to form health-wise, and Holland has to spell him during a few injuries.

Salty's a Top Guy?

As a season ticket holder of the AAA club in OKC, I’ve seen Salty this year. If he was more fleet of foot, it wouldn’t be so bad. But he’s slow. His throws back to to the mound would be great, if the mound were 58’6" away…

So,

we held onto Arias all fucking year just in case Kinsler gets hurt…..and then when it finally happens, we get rid of him. JD should have had the guts to kill that roach a long time ago.

But News Corp. is not only planning on possibly bidding for the Rangers, but they’re planning on bidding on the Stars as well.

Maybe it's just personal preference.

But I’d rather have an actual “owner” running the team, not a CEO and a board around a conference table.
