I don't think Josh makes that catch Borbon did in the 9th, is what he's saying.
I don’t always have sex with men…but when I do, I prefer Josh Hamilton. - AJM
Julio made a few run saving plays I don't know that Josh would've
Then again, I don’t know that Josh would’ve dove in the 1st giving up the two runs.
And just cause we didn't need an outfield assist from that position tonight...
doesn’t mean we don’t regularly
OK, gripe on a win! Gripe against Borbon!
He makes two excellent catches. He is 1-3 and scores a run from the ninth position. Hamilton doesn’t have to kill himself in left tonight. That helps his knee survive longer.
Wasn't hating on Josh personally
I just think we need to roll with Julio in center regardless of how Murphy is hitting.
Yes.
He slid down.
He’s safe.

Nope
He’s never really lacked the secondary pitches to start though, just the consistency with those pitches to start.
The biggest road block for Feliz to the rotation though is whether or not there’s going to be room for him there.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
"I am one of the biggest Texas Ranger fans out there but I'm also one of the smartest. Deal with it."
-The Outlaw
Meh
If we dont sign Lee….Wed only have CJ, Colby, and Hunter returning as starters. And CJ may only be here for 1 more year as well.
after that you have a lot of question marks and a group that Feliz belongs in
Feliz though isn't that high on the depth chart
You’d still have Feldman and Holland to round out that rotation and probably Matt Harrison would get another shot before Feliz. I think Feliz to the rotation is between Scheppers and Perez on that depth chart and that might not be enough for the Rangers to look at him as a starter next season. I think we’re still at least a full year away from Feliz being given a rotation shot.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
"I am one of the biggest Texas Ranger fans out there but I'm also one of the smartest. Deal with it."
-The Outlaw
I think there’s more concern about Schepper’s ability to last as a starter than Feliz’s, plus they could break Scheppers in through the bullpen like they did with Feliz. you could put Harrison ahead of him, but Feliz as ace-type stuff. Harrison doesn’t. oh, and we’re going to need lefty arms in the bullpen, too.
feldman… eh.
No, I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.
Harrison...
should not be ahead of Feliz for getting a chance at starting.

From Page 9 of the August 23-29, 2010 Rangers Magazine
A Message For Texas Rangers Fans:
Welcome to a new beginning. We can’t tell you how excited we are to complete our purchase of the Rangers. It’s been a long journey, but well worth the wait.
We believe that this franchise belongs to you, and we pledge to be passionate in all that we do to bring you the very best, on and off the field.
Our entire ownership group is committed to putting together a team that will compete for championships year in and year out, to providing the ultimate ballpark experience, and to being an active and engaged community partner. You have our promise that we will do everything we can to attain these goals.
We have begun this effort immediately, and you may have already noticed some of the changes at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
One element that has not changed is the excitement on the field for the 2010 Rangers. It’s been a great season so far and we are expecting more of the same as we head down the stretch and into October.
We want you to feel connected and to be a major participant in this process. We welcome your suggestions on how the Rangers can better serve you. Please let us hear from you.
Rangers fans have waited too long for the ultimate prize. We look forward to getting there together as one family, and we will always appreciate your loyalty and support. The best times are just ahead.
Go Rangers and we’ll see you at the ballpark.
Sincerely,
Nolan Ryan / President

As smart as the Rays are...
…I do not understand sending Helickson down to settle him in as a reliever and keeping Davis in the rotation.
They are allegedly trying to monitor his IP and pitches thrown for the year,
but, heh, he’s pitching as well as anyone in baseball and they’re deadlocked with NYY. I can only figure they’re hoping to bring him back up to the roster in a week when rosters expand and then decide if they’re going to plug him back in the rotation and maybe put Davis in pen as long reliever.

Why not? September 1 isn't that far off from his last start. It's basically like he missed a start.
He’s pitching too well to ignore putting him in as a starter.

by SarasotaRanger on Aug 24, 2010 9:51 PM CDT up reply actions
Why demote him to the bullpen of your A- ball team only to bring him back up to start?
That’s a move that indicates their mind is already made up as to where he ends up.
I don't think where he's getting sent is particularly relevant to that,
but I did just read Maddon said he’s a strong candidate to come back up for either expanded or playoff roster out of the pen. Says they are watching his # of pitches like they did in ’08 w/David Price. I guess it makes sense, considering they can go with Price, Niemann, Garza, and either Shields/Davis in a playoff rotation.

I don't know.
They didn’t say from here on out or anything like that, but for a night game that drew 20K, school starting, and it being the Twins – it was the perfect opp for Chuck to do it. We were joking about tomorrow that if he did it, does that mean Hot Dogs will be .50 for one inning? I hope he pulls a beer special, personally.

Is it just me or there's this weird trend
with some indie/alt rock bands, who tend to produce an amazing, amazing debut or even two, then just slip off into mediocrity? Interpol, bloc Party, even more off-center circumstances like, say, the Strokes?
Or is it just natural regression?

We'll have to see with Interpol...
with this album coming up if they’ve officially fallen into mediocrity. While Our Love To Admire wasn’t their best, it still wasn’t bad. And Antics might even be a better album than TOTBL. You should listen to one of their b-side songs from OLTA called Mind Over Time. It’s awesome. They always seem to have an awesome b-side that they don’t release. I just don't get THAT into music
so I don’t know what’s great that’s out there. I still listen to the same shit on my iPod that’s been on there forever. I can’t tell you when the last time I bought an album was. Maybe The Who’s Greatest Hits about 4 months ago. I usually only listen to music when i’m running or doing yard work.

How it seems everyone has a connection in some way…besides the Rangers. Like Aqua was in the same frat with 2 of my childhood friends at Baylor…and you guys all went to ACU, and PADMY knows who San Angelo is written about.
btw, my girlfriend went to McMurry. She doesn’t like you Wildcats.

Eh not surprising, they have the south side of town and

ARod
Longoria
Zimmerman

maybe:
Sandoval
Reynolds
Callaspo (BIG maybe)

Beltre.

"dirkatron has his own evaluation metric: rapes above replacement." AJM
Same problem as MY.
Not that MY was as good at SS as ARod, but they just don’t have the initial quickness needed for the hot corner. ala Nettles, Robinson, Chavez, Buechele, Bell….
That being said, as much as I defend MY, ARod brings more to the table at 3rd.
'Waiting for a girl and she gets me into fights

You would rather have ARod than Young
contract considered?
That’s just crazy. ARod is about an ENTIRE MICHAEL YOUNG CONTRACT overpaid.
Go Rice Owls!
Sandoval is terrible.
He weighs like 280 pounds. There is no way he is going to be any better next year when he packs on even more weight.

I always wonder what comes over an individual
to want to dress up like a character in a movie while seeing the film. (lord of the rings, harry potter, star trek, star wars, the matrix) It gets ridiculous, but its really fun to laugh at them. The funniest skit of all-time is when the ‘insult comic dog’ shows up to one of the star wars movies.

Midnight premiere of The Dark Knight.
We get our seats at the Imax about 3 hours early. There’s a group of about 50 people that were there the whole time. About 30 minutes before the movie, the theater is 90% full and some of us decide to go get concessions.
A group of dumb geeks dressed like the Joker walk in, and see some empty seats right in the middle. Nevermind the jackets on the seats or the people saying the seats are taken. Not saved….taken.
They sit down, ignoring everyone. Those guys come back to their seats to see a bunch of Jokers in their seats. They are big, angry bruthas.
It was NOT pretty.
